The fan base led by a media who makes its living stirring up that fan-base would have told you the last 2 games for Dallas were must win.

As in you MUST crush the Giants to knock them out of the playoffs.

You must beat San Diego, winners of 7 straight, at home.

Winning those games would have been big, but what is clear is that you have a chance now to win games still. This team isn't even in MUST win territory this week. They need 2 wins out of the final 3 games.

The media says a lot of really stupid things. It isn't because they are stupid but because their job is to say sensational things. The worst thing they can be is boring. So they resort to all sorts of sensationalism.

But the team can't worry about that. They have a very simple job. Win 2 games. Not a single one of those games will be easy. No team EVER wants to lose to Dallas. Philly and Wash are both teams who judge seasons as much by beating Dallas as they do by making the playoffs. All that said Dallas is 2-0 against those clubs albeit in close games. New Orleans is an odd study. They have been playing inconsistently but still well enough to win. They got up for New England and spanked them but have had a lot of close games against bad teams. Dallas is probably the last game they get up for before the playoffs. It's not a good sign. But if Dallas wants to see team weakness they want to see it on defense. Their own defense will hold good defenses to reasonable scores. So the Saints match up isn't as bad as it looks on paper. It's still bad just not terrible.

But that wounded dog theory does hold. Dallas certainly needs the next two games more than the teams they face. They need to get to Philly with that game holding some meaning but again if they take care of business that game won't be 'must' win either.

If you look back over the last few Super Bowls the participants were all super hot clubs that went 14-2 or better. Some teams like Pittsburgh and the Giants eked into the playoffs then took off for the Lombardi run.

This Cowboy team needs to take off. It is due some luck and it is has played well enough the last two weeks to have won but just didn't. It is the NFL and they better figure out a way to move past that toss up status because they need two more wins.

...right...just don't hold your breath on that happening...1 for 8 on third down conversions ain't cutting it i'm afraid...especially when you are actually winning the turnover differential...

Tony needs to stay away from Sharper and not have a repeat like the Broncos when we challenged Champ and lost the game as a result..but , of course, Jason being the stubborn one, will try to prove all the experts wrong and try to get one off his side

I agree with you on one thing, JT -- we are due for some good luck. When's the last time we got a gift like the Giants got with the bounce off Witten's foot right into the safety's hands? Seems like it's been forever. Even passes we tip seem to be going exactly between defenders, just like last week with Brooking and Jenkins.

I dont know what you guy are looking at, but winning 2 of the last 3 games guarantees jack. We do not control our destiny at that point, we will need either the Giants or the Eagles to lose to a third party in order for us to make the playoffs.

Its like this, if we lose to the Saints and beat both Washington and Philly, we end the season at 10-6.

If the Giants win their last 3 games, they end the season at 10-6. However, they have tiebreak over us so they get the Wildcard instead of us.

Green Bay is a lock to get the other Wildcard.

If Philly only loses to us in week 17 and nobody else, they win the division at 11-5.

So we have Philly winning the division at 11-5, the Giants at 10-6 get a wildcard due to tiebreak and the Packers get the other wildcard. We are left sitting home. SO WINNING ONLY 2 OF 3 MEANS NOTHING WITHOUT HELP!!!!

I hate...hate...hate...the fact that I feel this way but I agree. It's been go time for a long time. Maybe with some breaks, some luck, some calls that go our way but nothing leads me to believe we will change.

I am praying that it won't happen, but I think Saturday night might be--

Go away time. :(

So, you're saying if everyone else wins all of their games, and we don't, then we're screwed. Well, I guess that's a sensible reason to go belly-up, then. Who replaces Wade, I wonder?

We're 8-5 for the games that matter to-date. Have you not been paying attention, or are we just not counting the 8 because the calendar says December?

I take one day of vacation from work and the boards and come back to all these bash the fanbase and media threads.

Do these people realize that they are part of the fanbase as well?

Oh and only time will tell if the Giants and Chargers game were must win games. Losing those 2 games could mean the difference between making the Playoffs or not.

Well we have gone from 8-3 and thinking about a 1st round buy to 8-5 and thinking about maybe getting in the playoffs. My post was to the OP that go time was two weeks ago, not now.

I hated when that happened, if you practiced that move you could not duplicate it in 100 tries..I figured when we played the Giants again, we would have one turn our way but than you have Jacobs running like Dorsett and a rare punt return for a TD after not giving one up all year
I hate the Giants for that reason alone but if we make it to the playoffs I will forgive them for all of those transgressions!

They've been tough games. This team's been going all year, we're just getting beat in close games by better teams. I don't know what else to tell you.
