I can't wait for Madden 2017. I just wanted to tell someone that and my kids and wife just don't understand. I'm 37 and still play video games...can't help it; I blame my generation.

Anywho, how is everyone else feeling about the overall haul in this year's draft? I, for one, have a hard time giving anything less than a B- just simply because they got my pet cat Zeke (incidentally, that is also why the wait for Madden 2017 is maddening...pun intended). I'm cool with the Jaylon Smith pick up, with or without him in 2016. I mentioned on another thread we basically traded our 2016 2nd round pick for a high 2017 pick in the first round. And we can turn preexisting injuries off on Madden...so we've that going for us...which is nice (classic 80's cult comedy movie reference intended).

I was clapping for Clapper. I knew nothing about Maliek. Very curious about rather or not the Cowboys found something in Preskott. In his highlights, (yeah, you read that right) he seems to have a similar release to Romo and also has Romo-like escapability with better wheels. And we have the technology to make him better on Madden 2017. I should collect a check from EA Sports for the amount of Madden 2017 plugs in this whatever this is.

But after that, I know absolutely zilch about who the Cowboys took in the latter rounds. So, any self-proclaimed couch scouts who have more in depth knowledge about a particular pick and hated/liked/loved a pick not mentioned above, by all means contribute. Or if you want to refute or criticize or just simply make fun of any of the above, once again, feel free...

A C- for me. I've liked our drafts that past few years, I have a hard time justifying this one.

1st round - RB, I have a love hate relationship with this pick
2nd round - LB, injured, questions if he'll ever be the same player again.
3rd round - DT, looks like he'll be competing for a backup role
4th round - QB, I actually like this pick. Said before the draft, for where he was projected, this is good value.

The rest are nobodies to me. I don't even expect a single one to make the roster.

Gonna throw out a plug for Axis football on Steam. EA is aids, even though it's currently better than the competition (hard not to be with a no compete license).

So, I'm guessing you had some latter round pet cats the Cowboys could have taken? Anyone in particular you think the Cowboys whiffed on?

Also, you guys should drop Madden and start playing Front Office Football.

What's that like?

Nah, no pet cats this year. Most of the guys I liked, but wasn't desperate for, were projected and taken in the second and third rounds. I simply just didn't like the picks we made. I just find it hard to believe there weren't better prospects than a huge project at TE and an RB competing in an already crowded backfield.

It's sim-based text game and it's addicting. If you're a stats guy, you'll love it. There's also leagues online you can join and compete with others. Since it's sim based, you have to use your imagination obviously.

My guess is they are trying to create competition at a few key positions to their scheme. I think Zeke was a huge get. I'm not going to rehash what he adds to the overall team - I'm sure you've read them - but he is going to bring a much needed element for the Cowboys offense to exercise all of it's potential.

I loved the EE pick. I mean LOVED it. My brain kept telling me they'd draft Ramsey simply because the RB position is devalued these days... but my heart kept wanting the team to take Zeke. When they announced the pick, I was so fired up. That is the guy I wanted. He is going to be a nightmare for other teams.

Smith is so worth the pick, IMO. His upside is as high as you can get. Worth the risk to me (and apparently the Cowboys).

Collins, is actually a guy that I really liked a lot, so I was fired up to see us take him. I didn't talk much about him because he is a 3-tech and I never expected the team to take one high because of Crawford. His physical skill is at a pro bowl level, so here is hoping that Marinelli can get him there. We do know that Marinelli didn't think he is lazy because they'd never have drafted him if he was.

Tapper is exciting because he is so physically talented and because he was miscast in that Oklahoma defense the last few years, so he should improve significantly pretty quickly. His stature reminds me of James Harrison. He will have leverage on his side on most days and I feel convinced that Marinelli can teach him to use that.

Prescott was a good get in the very late 4th. I thought he might go as early as the second round. His intangibles along with his physical ability to throw and run the ball is exciting. I don't know if he'll pan out or not but the guy has plenty of moxie and that, IMO, if part of what makes all good NFL QB's.

Anthony Brown is physically a very good CB. He didn't play that way at Purdue though, so I'm torn on this pick. I like college production. In the 6th round though, all prospects are going to have some issues.

Frazier is a guy that I know very little about. His size and hitting ability makes it sound like he will either get moved to OLB or like he will be a specialized sup-package player who plays on all special teams.

I liked Darius Jackson a good bit. Thought he might be a late round find for us before we drafted EE. I didn't expect to get him after we did though, and now I'm not so sure there will even be room on the roster for him. A really good player for the 6th round IMO.

Rico Gathers is a guy that I'm really excited about. His size is amazing and his athleticism at that size is hard to believe. He is a pretty smart guy so maybe he can pick it all up quickly on the mental side. I think that is the only thing that will stop him because physically, the guy is a blue chipper. It will be fun to watch what he does in camp.

Very happy overall with the draft.

This draft is either an A or a C to me, won't know for a couple of years. Loved getting Zeke and iffy on the 2nd rd gamble but def worth a shot over getting Lynch.

I will pass the time with Destiny on XBOX and Big Brother this Summer :)

Oh, and watch another Mets run!

Red Dead Redemption is the sequel to Read Dead Revolver, I think. My bday is a couple of weeks after Madden release so that gift from my wife is a tradition... which is ironic because she hates the time I devote to it...or any time for that matter not spent with her.

Blaming your generation for your own actions is lame. It's a cop-out.

As for the draft... I say the same thing every year. We won't know for a couple of years.
