I think last year should have been. He actually should have retired after Jerry let him go.
I say this is a good move by the Rams simply because they have no one.
I always respect your opinion Hostile, but I'm going to have to disagree with you on this issue. I will stipulate that "In a perfect world" T.O. has certain knowledge and skill set that he brings to the table. In a perfect world, T.O. could be a security blanket for Bradford. I think in a perfect world, he could also help out S. Jackson and the running game.
But unfortunately this isn't a perfect world. First of all, T.O. has lost more than a step. Teams have figured out how to limit him and at times eliminate him from the game plan by jamming him at the line. T.O. has feasted on bad teams to inflate his stats for the past several years, but hasn't done much against good competition for at least the last two years.
Even assuming,
arguendo, T.O. turns out to be the T.O. of 3 years ago, the Rams will probably still not be a .500 ball club and T.O.'s presence will prevent another receiver from making the roster and getting playing time.
The Rams would be much better off spending the money they would spend on T.O. on solidifying their line and taking a cast offs off other rosters (like maybe a Sam Hurd that doesn't make our roster) or maybe trading a 6th or 7th rounder for a steady guy like Crayton. T.O. IS a street free agent, but the distraction he creates in the locker room, and the cancer that he spreads (which often exists after he is gone) just isn't worth the risk, In my humble opinion. Thoughts?
