Does anybody know who the NT the Cowboys flew in to workout as reported over at Ranch Report? I don't want the article, just a name.

Well, he would fit the profile. Samoan Juco out of California. Not a great deal of exposure as he really only played two seasons at Michigan St. Only started playing football his Sr. Year in HS. He should be available in the later rounds.

Actually, that's impressive from a personal standpoint . . . . only starting football your senior year in high school and then playing for Michigan State a few years later.

I agree. He was a JUCO ALL AMERICAN in Santa Clarita College of the Canyons (???). I don't know very much about him. I can't even say that I recall very much about his play while watching MSU but I do agree that he probably has some skills. I think you probably have to figure that the relationship between Parcells and John L. Smith probably have something to do with it as well.

BTW, How have you been Woods?

Doing o.k. Markets have been a bit tough, but we just had a baby girl, so it's all good. :)

Domata Peko

DOMATA PEKO MEASURABLES Height: 6-2
fraction_5-8.gif
Weight: 310 40-yard dash: 5.27 10-yard dash: 1.76 20-yard shuttle: 4.49 60-yard shuttle: Broad jump: 8-7 225-lb. bench: 25 3-cone drill: 7.69 Vertical jump: 28
fraction_1-2.gif
Wonderlic: 20-yard dash: 3.03

Strengths: Still developing as a fine run stopper. Is a big, powerful defender with a strong lower body. Consistently occupies two blockers, freeing up teammates. Packs a powerful initial punch. Gets penetration on most plays. Sheds blocks quickly and is a sure tackler. Shows decent straight-line speed.

Weaknesses: Is a poor pass rusher, relying solely on bull rushes. Doesn't play well in open field. Has trouble changing directions. Started for only one season at Michigan State. Has limited lateral movement. Lacks great athleticism. Has some off-field baggage.
Bottom line: Peko has limited experience and still is raw. He is one-dimensional player who can only contribute on running downs. He could get selected late but is more likely to go undrafted.

Dan Pompei analysis
Is strictly a run stuffer. Offers little in the way of pass rush. Has some quickness. Doesn't run very well. Gets good leverage. Plays with a good base. Knows how to use his hands.

I'm not seeing a wonderlic score. What did he make on the test?

What's with all the late 2nd day players and potential undrafted players being brought in???

Shouldn't we be focusing on WHO to draft vs WHO NOT to draft???

Lots of people who get paid to build NFL teams believe that the draft really begins on the second day and after. Who you take in the 4th down and UDFA players may not start for you but they will certainly save you sheckles on special teams and even back up positions. Why spend huge dollars on a NT if you can find one that can be signed as an UDFA or a late 2nd day pick?

Sounds good. But I think we'd better focus harder on our Day 1 picks. We haven't quite been stellar ... esp with our 2nd rounders under BP.

The problem is, if he got a buzz cut, he'd only weigh 275-280... :D
