now THAT's entertainment...The Lines get near 100% of the love in the draft (all of it prior to the 7th)...can't say I would be unhappy, but I just can't see this...Billy turner could go in the 2nd, and perhaps Sutton goes in the 3rd (swap them around and it could still work :D)

Cool

Just FYI...The reason Detroit supposedly would part with Suh is to move from where they already are in the draft. So that would mean parting with Suh very early in the 1st round.
For example, they would trade their 10th pick plus Suh to Jax to move up to the 3rd overall pick.

Also, we have six 7th rounders unless you were including two in one of the trades.

Unless he's forcing his way out, there's no way the Lions would trade Suh straight up for #30. Even if he is, do you really think that #30 would be the best offer they'd get for him? Really?

I actually had read a few months ago that they want to trade him because not only is he a locker room problem, but he's about to cripple their cap significantly.

I believe... I might be wrong though.
I feel right, but the little worm in the bottle of Mezcal in front of me is shaking it's head no.

Why does that make me think of Poltergeist 2?

I think you (and all your pals in your head) heard that correctly.

I'd just heard that value-wise they were looking for more that something like the 30 the pick and that they really want one of those top 3-4 players. Their needs match well with those top guys this year.
Clowney, Robinson, Watkins would be huge for Detroit..

I think they would be happy to get a first round choice for him.

I think you're letting your dislike for the player affect your judgement about his value to clubs around the league.

Take a look at recent trades for players. Blockbuster deals anymore usually have a ceiling of first round choice, not a floor.

He wants a HUGE contract. We are rebuilding and need to focus on using the draft and having rookies on rookie contracts. We are not one DT away from being SB contenders. We are screwed cap wise with tonys contract. You need to be looking at Seattle and how they built their team and follow that blue print. I will take donald on a rookie contract for the next 5 years versus Suh at his outrageous next contract. We cant afford him anymore then Detroit can guys.

Detroit is not taking jusat a 30 1st round pick or probably a 16 pick either. If you cant get them into the top 3 or 4 picks they will want more picks this year or next and I think he is a diva head case to boot. Lets stick to our plan and rebuild the right way

Each trade is a unique event. He's a force on defense that regularly requires double teams and affects game plans. He's been to the Pro Bowl twice in 4 years. Thats more than Smith and Bryant. Would you trade Bryant for the 30th pick?

He's due 12.5 mill this season, contract would have to be tore up and that converted to mostly signing bonus, plus it would have to be a sweet deal. He's a great talent but no thanks.

Suh is on the last season of his contract. You would be giving up #30 to rent a player for 1 year. If you want to pay his contract, just wait until he is a free agent and it won't cost any draft picks. Also, his 2014 salary is 12M.

Option 1:
Trade #30 for Suh. Pay him 12M in 2014 and about 8M to 10M per year afterwards.

Options 2:
Sign Suh as a free agent after 2014. Pay him the same 8M to 10M per year and keep the draft pick.

I'd prefer Option 3: Draft good, keep our 1, and not even sniff the headcase known as Suh. Plenty of good DLine prospects going to hit the free agent market next yr but I'd rather see this team starting hitting on late round guys like Seattle and others have done.

Sounds a lot like what was facing Jerry Jones the last time a Detroit player was on the trading block.
