since 2012 we have drafted just ONE olineman in RDs 4-7(laurence gibson in the 7th RD in 2015).this i shocking and pathetic considering the number of bad picks we have made on other positions in RDs 4-7 over that time. Finally it bit us in the *** and our Season is teetering before it began.

The Cowboys have generally hit on the linemen they've drafted early (the lone exception being Chaz Green). The later round guys haven't panned out.

I expect them to make a trade or two before week one to address this depth issue.

They went all in on the starting OL to build this great wall. So naturally they are not going to use tons of resources for the depth behind them. It is sink or swim with the starting unit. I never agreed going that far in for one unit as the others will suffer over time because the resources will be dried up.

But it isn't just OL. This team has little depth period, at any position. WR and RB is the only positions I see with a respectable amount of depth.

How many teams have outstanding "offensive line depth" let alone one featuring 3 all pro's and two top prospects? We've caught a few unpredictable bad breaks.
Exactly...There's not too many teams who have quality depth on the O-Line.

Since 2012 how many 1st and 2nd round picks have we used on O-Linemen that other teams haven't? Why exlude them? What about Green in the 3rd? What about 2011 where we drafted an O-Lineman in the 1st, 4th and 7th rounds? What about free agent acquisitions like Ron Leary, Cameron Fleming and La'el Collins? What about Jonathan Cooper who was a former 1st round pick, or Byron Bell who had been a 5 year starter in Tennessee and Carolina before coming to Dallas, or Joe Looney who was a 4th round pick of the 49ers?

Ultimately what you are doing is blaming draft history in the rounds lease likely to produce an actual contributing player, and have ignored all the other methods of acquiring O-Line talent that are much more likely to produce an actual contributing player.

The defensive line is pretty deep, and the Cowboys have a lot of linebackers that can play. To me, the only thin spots are safety, o-line, and quarterback.

LOL. This is pretty absurd. The line is stacked with high picks.

We spent money on Fleming who was supposed to be an upgrade at swing tackle. Looney seems to be adequate center guard depth.

We need one more OL for sure now with Fred Beard out for a while. Guards can usually be picked up reasonably inexpensively. Hopefully we can pick up one or two on roster cut downs to 53.

You can't be 10 players deep at every position because roster spots and cap are limited. We have reasonably good depth at OL and exceptional talent (Conner is a grey area) at the starting OL positions.

QB is never going to be a deep depth position for any team. There is hardly enough quality starters in this league, much less to have guys behind them that are good. You just want someone who can be somewhat respectable if he has to fill in. And we don't have that at all.

I am still skeptical on the LB position because of how fragile Jaylon and Lee are. And LVE is unproven. I'll agree on the DL, though. Although DT is still weak.

Yup. And I think I confused "thin" at QB with "experienced". After Dak and his 33 pro starts we have Cooper Rush and his three pro.....pass attempts.
