It's a complete gimic. The food looks large on television but those portions are extremely tiny and have far less calories than their real counterparts. You don't feel full and it requires discipline to remain on that diet.
The truth is there is no easy way out. Losing weight is hard in the beginning and you have to adjust your lifestyle and mentality. The truth is Americans treat food like entertainment and it's a big part of our culture. if you want to lose weight, you have to stop seeing food as entertainment. You have to replace the pleasure you get with eating with something else you enjoy doing. I'm no a purist by any means but I was always thin until 28 and then I piled on about 40 lbs due to stress in my job; food was my only release and I stopped working out. I lost that weight but i had to get back into enjoying working out and being active. i also try to eat at home as much as possible during the wedk and not go overboard if i eat out.
For example, I avoid KFC, Long John Silvers and go for Wendys. Avoid the Chimichangas and go with beef fajitas. Eat two slices of cheeze pizza instead of wolfing down 4 slices of pepperoni. Substitute diet drinks instead of regular full size drinks. Get fries with your burget but only eat 1 or 2 with each bite of your burger and throw the rest away. Cut down on carbs and refined sugars. Keep two days a week in which you indulge with whatever you want to eat but be good those other 5 days. Go for walks in your neighborhood after you eat dinner. It's a good way to spend family time talking because you bond and lose weight at the same time, plus you can walk your dog too.
