Yea... so not going to happen, not with what he is asking and the Vikings reluctance to just cut him.

McFadden's contract is designed in such a way that we have very little commitment to him. We could cut him tomorrow at almost no cost.

With that said, I agree the Peterson thing is highly unlikely. I don't anticipate Minnesota outright releasing him, which is what I think it would take for us to have any shot at acquiring him.

Fortunately there are more quality RB's in this draft than EVER before. Ten very good ones by my count:

Gordon, Gurley,Coleman,Ajayi, Yeldon, Davis, Duke Johnson, David Johnson, Jeremy Langford, David Cobb, Amir Abudullah

That's an OBSCENE amount of talent. Making our decision not to bring back DM at that laughable contract amount even better.

What a stupid article. Major fail. The infactuation with McFadden is waaaaaaaay over the top.

Oh and the "As for Peterson, who has been linked to Dallas because Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is drawn to star power" really had me laughing. My question to that line is....since when?

Vikings are bluffing hoping to extract a draft pick from some sucker. They'll release him before they pay whats due this year on his current contract. They may renegotiate his current contract downward in order to keep him but if they can't, I'd bet on his release.

Lazy reporting...that's a standard line often used when referencing Jerry Jones.

Who knows they may have stayed away from the 4-5 million guys and went with McFadden just in case Peterson becomes free. I expect to draft one at some point in the draft too.

NFLN made a moment, forget who it was. Said it's very possible 10 RB's can go in the top 100 picks. He didn't mention them, but your list are probably the 10. wonder how that matches to the CBS sports draft list rankings.

...Why let Murray go because they didn’t want to pay him the $8 million per year the Eagles did and bring in Peterson, who’s due to make $12.75 million in 2015...

Because he's twice the player and his contract can and will be restructured. There you go, hope this helped.
