Heisenberg;4344846 said:If you have an Intel system, Hackintoshes are so easy. They've got almost the entire process as easy as clicking next a few times these days.
tupperware;4344848 said:Heh, it's much much easier now, for sure. I remember spending a full day getting it to work a few years back.
Still, even being much easier the GTX 580 was a PITA to get working with acceleration.

And check your email.

tupperware;4350948 said:It will be difficult, relative to computer knowledge, if:
You don't know what a BIOS is.
You think every computer problem should be solved with a format.
You don't understand basic computing concepts.
If you've been around the block a few times and consider yourself a "Power User". Have no problems Googling Kernel Panic messages, reading, tinkering, tweaking, then you should be able to do it.
Installing it isn't all that difficult any more, with these all in one solutions and pre-made disks. However, getting OSX to play nice with your hardware and not have stability issues is more than just a matter of clicking next a few times. Basically, if you don't mind googling and reading you should be able to solve any issues that crop up.

However, I did have an issue getting the install process to start. I had to change my raid settings in the BIOS. I have Windows set up to use my SSD as a cache for my main HD. That stuff doesn't fly in OSX or at least it doesn't fly in OSX for Hackintoshes. I also have an Asus sound card that needed to be disabled and onboard audio to be enabled.
Luckily, I can save multiple configs in my BIOS. So, when I want to mess around with my OSX partition, I just load it and boot. Easy as pie.
