O-Line back in form

The running game wasn't that great. But it seemed like Dak had forever to throw. I can't remember ever seeing him hurried. I haven't looked at the numbers though.

yeah they looked solid, used the pass to try and setup the run....thankfully they didnt need the run but it was there a few times....

Zero sacks and only one pressure is impressive.

Using play action on 47% of the passing plays had to help the protection and Dak did a great job of getting rid of it quickly.

The Giants were clearly focused on stopping the run on early downs, apparently, they didn't get the memo that Linehan was gone.

Besides the Kansas City Chiefs... The Dallas Cowboys are the only other team to not give up a single sack for Week1.

La’el Collins is also the #1 Graded RT according to PFF for the first week.

Getting Travis Fredrick back has changed everything...

No need to ruin a good thread topic by referencing PFF.

PFF is garbage. I don't care if they rate all Cowboys players as the greatest ever or if they rate them all as the worst ever.

Considering the Giants were tied for the second fewest sacks in the league last year, got rid of their best pass rusher and leader in sacks I don’t know why this is a surprise to anyone. I mean good job to the O line but seriously?

I do think they will be one of the best O lines in the league this year, if not the best, but let’s see this against a good defensive team which the Giants clearly are not. I would be a lot more concerned if they allowed a sack or two then I am surprised that they didn’t.

Don't want to diminish their performance but it was the Giants they played. Giants Dline is not a good pass-rushing unit. I think they played the run quite well and we were not able to break that many nice runs. We have work to to and we will see how they fare against a ferocious Dline.

More Cowboy stars:

FLEX: CB JOURDAN LEWIS, DALLAS COWBOYS
Lewis was the best defensive player on the field for the Cowboys in their win over the New York Giants, standing out in coverage in particular. On the field for 27 coverage snaps, he allowed just one reception that went for just six yards. To top it off, he added a pass breakup and finished the game having allowed an NFL passer rating of 56.3 on throws into his coverage.

And who's this? Glad to see he's making a splash.
ST MARK NZEOCHA, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
Nzeocha was on the field for 17 special teams snaps across five of their six units and made quite the impact. While he didn’t register any tackles in the game, he went one better, blocking a punt on 4th-and-4 with 13:37 left in the first quarter.

Did he? I thought it was more the case that Dak was picking a target and throwing. Bang bang. Throwing before the rush could get there.

Against one of the weaker defensive lines we had better looked good.

As good as the o-line looked, the Giants really have no one on that d-line that can be considered a "threat". Not bashing La'al but who was he facing? We need to see how this o-line performs against a top defense before we can assume they are back in form. Dak had a lot of time to throw the ball but our running game was weak, they need to get them holes opened up just a little more. A couple more weeks should tell the tale!

With all the wailing and gnashing of teeth last season about how La'El should be at guard, I thought he was developing into a pretty decent right tackle. Good to see him continuing that progress.

End of 2017, La'el was looking like a good RT, with expectations that he'd be in contention for the pro bowl in 2018. He was reportedly the most negatively effected by the move to Alexander. Then bounced back in the back half of the year. With the oline and offense doing well generally, he'll have a good chance to make the pro bowl this year. Not a lock, but in contention.

I've never bought the G idea. He looks the part, but doesn't play it. He's not a drive blocker, he's a stand up and pop you blocker. Atypical for G and T, he's making it work at T.

Now just find a way to make zeke fast again. He looked like he was still running in the sands of Cabo yesterday
I guess you wanted him to run really fast into the holes that didnt develop.

Check out how Fast Tony Pollard made out. 1.8 YPC.

Especially for those few snaps we got to see Barkley running for the Giants. The 'debate' didn't look close.
