I don't know who is coaching the offensive line these days, but whoever it is deserves a ton of credit. For three games now Bledsoe has had zero pressure on him. ZERO

I don't know ... the 49ers got some decent pressure yesterday. Only 1 sack ... but many hurries and knockdowns. Something like 7 hurries and multiple knockdowns.

More work to be done!!!

Yeah our pass coverage has been excellent, although still a lot of room for our run game imo.

Eddie, I watched the game (I'm sure you did too), and when he was hit or hurried it was usually after an eternity of holding the ball. I would hardly call him hurried throughout the day. But that is just my take on it.

RUN blocking is terrible

JJ is getting hit in the backfield EVERY TOUCH...99% of his yards are YAC

Oline looks fantastic.

One thing though, that I'm getting tired of seeing is AJ being bullrushed and pushed back in the pocket. I'm not saying he's a bad player, just that this happens at least once a game

I can deal with once a game. As long as he's good for the other 99% of the snaps.

YAC

YARDS AFTER CONTACT

either he is tackeled in the backfield or he dodges 1 or 2 would be tacklers just to get back to the line of scrimmage

Zero pressure? I sure haven't seen it that way...he knocked around a lot yesterday....I am pleased with the pass protection, but we desperately need to improve the run blocking.

I agree.

Sparano appears to be doing a decent job, but his lines in Jacksonville and Cleveland were not exactly run blocking dynamos. If we wanted to protect Bledsoe first and foremost, I would say mission accomplished.

I agree that the pass blocking looks good. Our big guys are making walls. I am extremely impressed with Pettiti as he has far exceeded my expectations. He actually looks like a guy who has what it takes to be a starter in this league. I figured we would have lots of growing pains with him. But it looks like he is as good a RT as we have had for quite some time.

However, I am underwhelmed by Al Johnson. I have noticed him getting beat/pushed around numerous times, and I haven't even been watching him.

I agree our run blocking isn't doing too good, and I don't know why. If I had to guess, I would bet it is because we are doing too much scheming on run blocking with down blocks and pulling. I think that works good on the sweeps, at times, but in between the tackles, I think our big boys need to be just firing ahead and taking out what is there. When we do all the pulling in our between the tackles running game, Julius has to wait for the lineman, the plays become slow developers and generally lose efficacy. Straight ahead blocking with Julius hitting the hole at the speed of his choice (and not that of blockers) is what works best for our running game.
