Be thankful that our problem is a correctable one. Our line held up against the Giants who we thought had the best pass rush in the league coming into that game.

Whether you make changes in terms of personnel or you do it schematically there are ways to improve your line from week to week. Many teams do it each year.. Will we be one of those teams? I'm not sure. Can it be done? YES.

Be thankful that overall we have very few talent deficiencies on our team. Talent wise we are superior to 80 percent of the league. The difference between an 8-8 team and a 12-4 team many times comes down to who MAXIMIZES their talent... It's time we begin to do that.

In the meantime if our O-Line cannot get it together for the bears game we can work on a game plan that requires less time in the pocket (More screens, Dink and dunk) None of us want to see that but it might be the best thing to do for this upcoming game. Then we will have a bye week to try and correct this O Line situation.

Our SKILL positions are probably better than 80% of the league.

Our OL is worst in the league.

That's like having the biggest guns on a battleship with a wooden hull.

I disagree. Clearly our line is below average as of this moment but I don't think it's the worst.

Not with Garrett. Did you see when he decided to run screens? Right before the half, when we had 70+ yards to go. There were probably 2-3 play action plays called yesterday.

Play calling is still terribad.

Jason Witten has been more of a problem than the OL. If Witten plays well that game would not have been close and the OL would not have looked as bad. It also didn't help that the refs never called the bucs for helmet to helmet hits on Romo.

I agree the play calling is troublesome right now. He needs to get much more creative and let Romo sling it a little bet. It's not easy to judge the play calling when the line gives no push for run plays and gives no time for pass plays but for whatever reason our offense feels very predictable and very tight.

When Romo is in 2 minute drill situations and needs to sling it a little it seems we move the ball more easily but between the negative runs and false starts we always seem to have 2nd and 13's and 3rd and 9's etc.

I hope Romo survives in the process, if not this season could be terrible without him.

Agree but I have seen Witten play well enough times to expect that he turns it around although I am beginning to worry that the drops are becoming psychologically problematic for him.

It's so obvious when we are going to run and pass.

whatever you are having is obviously pretty good
can you pass it around?

Agreed. Garrett needs to be more creative and start maximizing our talent. Dez needs more targets and more plays where he is the first read as well.. Yesterday you saw our biggest plays both to Dez and Miles were plays where romo gave them a chance to make a catch in 1-1 situations and they responded. Dez plays the ball in the air wonderfully we got to give him some chances to come down with big plays.. But in order for that Romo does need time

I believe one of the biggest problems with the OL besides the players being of lesser quality is that Garrett doesn't put them into position to succeed. I think his playcalling allows the D to tee off on the OL

Nah they're just not very good. They're getting beat on basic rushes...Bernardeau completely whiffing/getting tossed aside, Free getting pushed back, even Tyron Smith struggling against stronger defensive ends.

Now just wait til we get teams that disguise their blitzes better than Tampa and Seattle because it's coming....

Chicago, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and that's just a few. This is going to be ugly. I think this o-line will cry to their mommas the next few weeks, especially going up to Baltimore.

The play calling is not bad. The execution is though.

They had a good game plan but couldn't execute it. They tried some screens to slow TB down but couldn't execute. They couldn't run the ball well. That sort of hampers the play calling and game plan. So they said Tony throw the ball and win the game.

They're lucky Freeman isn't a very consistently good QB or they'd have lost that game.

The biggest problem with our offense right now bar none is the constant penalties. We almost never have a drive without at least one penalty. We're always putting ourselves in bad down and distance situations and that limites the playcalling and gives the defense a leg up on how to defend us. Cure the penalty problem and the offense will look MUCH better even with a subpar Oline. It's really that simple and it's up to the coaching staff to get it done.

Very true. The penalties need to be taken care of.

They're committing these penalties because they're just not good enough! There's no coaching that can correct poor talent. They have false start penalties because they're scared of the DLine. When you get blown up by DLinemen, they get in your head and now you know you have trouble with them so you start to lose focus or try to gain an edge by jumping the snap count...all leading to false starts.

Or they're just beaten badly from the start and have to commit a holding penalty because they panic.

Or there's been an issue with a new player starting at center and the timing of the snap???? That has happened numerous times.

O rly?
