I'm not saying anything bad about the players that were drafted....but we had as close as possible to having an elite oline IMO

DeCastro
Kunz
Warford
Armstead
Watson
Pugh
Long

All were there when we had chance-some I didnt like

I'm not starting a flame war..but damn

Um, ok? So, in your world, we should be drafting all olinemen?

We've spent two first round pick on OLinemen in the last three years. We may still go oline in this draft. Seriously, enough.

This team builds from the outside-in,instead of the inside-out.I think it's a flawed philosophy, but it's their philosophy.

Yes, that's why we've spent two first round picks on Oline over the last three years, right?

That's absurd. No team drafts like this. This board is getting out of control with this nonsense.

None of these guys have played a down in the NFL. How are we rueing them and why are they elite?

The only one we should rue is Unger. That's one that got away as Jerry tried to be cute.

I knew we was going to hear this for the next few years. I like Frederick, but I liked him in the late second. First round pick in name only. It was a reach. The OP has a good point. A great oline could have been built the last couple of years and first round picks wasn't needed. As of now, two line positions are filled with good young players. I guess that's enough for some, but three more needs upgrading.

The only problem with that post is none of those players have proven elite.
In fact only Konz has been a plus starter as of yet.

It may well be 3 or 4 years for some of those guys.

The OP is advocating spending every high pick over a three year period on the OLine. That's not a "point," that's crazy talk. And no team builds a line like that.

Nonsense.

The best 5 players from above would have formed a terrible OL.
DeCastro, Konz and Warford is a young and mistake-laden interior OL but one you can work with that has insane upside.

OT however would be barren. Armstead is 2 or 3 year project. Pugh is projected back inside because of measurables. Long is also projected back inside. Forcing either outside is begging for sacks.

And none of those interior guys but Konz have outperformed our crappy OL as of yet.

After investing 0 first round picks along the OL Dallas has done so twice now in 3 seasons. Anyone crying about that is just crying to cry. Whether you liked Smith or Frederick means very little because the team did and it spent the picks.

Again I'm not saying we ignored not drafting O-Line

I'm suggesting what we might have had

DeCastro started for Pitt even after breaking his leg

I'll take those O-Line picks over everything else we have....with jury still out on Mo

These are not the only players that Dallas had a shot at. It is not nonsense. Check the tackles drafted in round two last year. The OP was just using these as an example, or that is the eay I took it. Either way, a great line could have been built in the last couple of years.

I wont talk about players we dont have anymore....just somehow figure out an acceptable line I guess???? instead an elite unit for the forseeable future
