Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham is entering the final year of his first professional contract and he’d like to get No. 2 signed sooner rather than later.

Giants co-owner John Mara said last month that he wanted to wait on negotiations until after Beckham spoke to new coach Pat Shurmur. That conversation has happened and Beckham said he thinks “we have an understanding of what we want to do.” He also said he had a “great” talk with General Manager Dave Gettleman, who will handle talks with Beckham’s agent that Beckham hopes will lead to some interior designing.

Agree ....no way in hell he's leaving w/o at least one tag. Bottom line, he has ZERO leverage over the next two-three years.

Judging by his comments, it's going to a huge distraction if it doesn't get done.

He would be a perfect fit with Dak.

He gets open with quickness and he has a huge catch radius. That type of number one receiver would be a much better fit than the current skill set that Dez brings to the table.

The Tag helps the player immensely .... if they get tagged twice that is even better

OBJ has a ton of leverage...... he can leave NYG or they have to tag him and pay him max dollars

Then they have to repeat the process next year with a 20% raise

That said; he makes any team markedly better. I don’t like him or want him, but he’d be huge in the Cowboys offense. He takes ordinary passes to —— the —— House.

would be great if they make him the highest paid player as he believes he should be. And we thought TO strained the locker room....IMO this guy is the nuttiest I've seen in a long long time and the Giants mortgaging their future salary cap status on him would be just perfect! I see horrible ROI written all over him but be my guest and take the chance.
