Coopers deal is actually averaging under 13 million a year now. The Cowboys mismanaged the situation because Cooper was always going to be willing to do his contract considering his guaranteed was almost up. If they didnt throw him under the bus and making it known they were moving, Cooper would have been a very attractive trade asset
He’s still getting the same money
The only difference is now the browns will have dead money for 2 seasons after his contract expires
They in return got cap relief for this season only

Cooper the better route runner when he doesn’t quit on the route because he knows he’s not getting the ball based on the defense.

OBJ is definitely the guy who will make the contested catches due to his hands and athleticism.

At the end of the day it wasn't about the production or the salary, yes, they both mattered a bit, but Jerry would have kept Coop if he liked him. The fact is he didn't, for whatever reason, JJ grew sour of Coop.

Cooper and it’s not even close… he was perfect in Dallas. That was probably a Stephen Cheap Jones moves.

Let’s get rid of our best receiver… one of the dumbest things this front office has done in years.
Letting Cooper go cleared cap space to build this defense. If we had not cut Cooper, where could we have cut to have the save effect?
