No point in signing him then. I would rather they draft a receiver for next year. Going to have pay Lamb soon so why tie up money to a 30 year old with two torn ACL's? If he was able to go in a few weeks than you certainly give it a shot for the remainder of the year.

I think for some reason, probably the usual hate on anything Dallas does reason…Washington gets a bad rep before he even steps on the field. I think he was a good signing. Hope we see that he is, if his foot is healed properly.

I used to follow her as well; she has trust of players, and therefore, sometimes some added info, and her trust comes from the fact she doesn't always spill all the story.
But I don't follow her any longer, been a while. It got a little political for my taste - I'd rather my sports feeds just do sports. That's just me, I know she has the right and maybe even the responsibility to use her platform the way she feels compelled, so no shade on her. Its just a style thing for me.

Likely a negotiation tactic to get him signed with the expectation of next year is when he really makes any impact. It was always about what the doctors saw. Leaking this to werder makes it much easier for the cowboys to walk away or have the fan base be ok with him signing elsewhere.
really for Jerry and co it makes sense to leak this- it could lower his price and if not they won’t get killed for not signing him.

Both sides have played this incorrectly. The team and OBJ would have benefited from a deal being done in late October or early November. The team would have eyes on him and know his progress. OBJ would be working with a professional staff on rehab.
In the above scenario, he likely would be further ahead in his progress. I think Gallup was helped by getting signed early by Dallas in free agency. They knew the injury. They knew how his surgery went. They knew how his rehab and progress was going.
The player also benefits in that arrangement IMHO. Oh well...we'll see how it plays out.

IMHO, Jerry's recent statement that he's "not confident" in the current situation with OBJ speaks loudly about his signing chances.
It seems more than likely that OBJ and the Cowboys' hierarchy are destined to go in very different directions, once his visit is completed.
Personally, I never actually bought into the notion that a prospective meeting with OBJ would prove a successful venture from the outset.

Well, I won't pretend to not be bummed. Was hoping he was healthy and could come in here and contribute. With that said, this does not surprise me. At this point, let him walk and just draft a WR next off-season.
