Obligatory Jaylon Smith thread

He played really well in the first half playing limited snaps, as most of us have been screaming for all season.

He was definitely in over his head as an every down LB when Hitchens went out in the second half, but it's promising that the flashes were finally there. He needs to be slowly brought along in spot snaps and it's a shame these injuries are forcing him on the field more.

Overall, a nice showing in the more manageable role!

You can also see the bias against him in the game thread. On Ajayi's long run, people started jumping on Smith but in reality, Hitchens was just as bad on that play as well.

Smith played decently tonight. All you can ask for at this point.

It seemed like he played some WILL tonight, which IMO, is his best position.

Smith does not deserve to be in the field right now

Yet another failure of the FO and coaching staff

LOL.

Great post after how he played tonight.

I swear some of you guys crack me up.

Just because he was able to find the correct hole and make a couple of tackles does not mean he played great

If you are objective he actually showed athleticism and some ability to change direction tonight. Maybe he is starting to get more mobility.

Just listen to what you're saying

Is that what passes for great play from a second year top of round 2 LB who was supposed to be a difference maker?

This guy is a liability right now and is in the field only because of the incompetence and ego of our stupid FO

Yep you can't hate on him. He's trying the best he can. This front office was so desperate to justify their pick that they threw him on the field before he was really ready. Just a terrible organization.

Not tonight. He made athletic plays. Splash plays that indicate he may be starting to get back together physically. And yes that's good and positive and bodes potentially well for the future.

I’m the biggest Jaylon critic in the world and he was pretty decent in the first half. My mind has already erased the second half.
