At least from my own entirely subjective point of view: there are no teams in the final 8 that I hate.
No Giants, Eagles, Patriots, Steelers or Commanders (note to Skins fans: the playoffs are a post-season tournament for football teams with winning records).
I'm not crazy about Peyton Manning, but his commercials are funny and I certainly prefer him to his brother, Elly Mae. Ravens aren't so hate-able with Billick gone. Jets are interesting to watch, and the Chargers have Norv.
On the NFC side, I've never had much feeling for the Vikings. It's interesting to watch Warner, who was such a dud with the Giants, revive his career. And you kinda have to feel good for the Saints -- not just because of the whole Katrina thing but the years of horrible teams down there.
That said, in the spirit of good sportsmanship spawned by my generally positive attitude to these other teams, let me just say that I hope the Cowboys crush the hopes and dreams of any team who is or will be an opponent and drive their players and fans weeping into the streets. Let their wailing be loud and their pain intense, as Jerry lifts the Lombardi Trophy above his head yet again.
Amen.
