Let's say you can only afford 3. Who's left out?

2nd tier

Collins
Cobb
Crawford
Jarwin

Same thing. Who is left out?

One more time?

Brown
Lee
Heath
Joe Thomas

Same thing. Odd man out?
Jones - can not spell interception let alone do it.
Jarwin - can not block worth a dime which allowed the return of Witten
Crawford - Go into MMA
Heath - Why keep him?
Thomas - Malcolm Smith played pretty well off the street.

This year Will McClay and his group will earn their money.

Dak, Cooper, Collins, and Quinn are keepers. But, our Dumbo GM took a year off of Quinn's deal, Did not sign Dak or Cooper, so they all may not be affordable. The only thing that could save is no collective bargaining keeping the franchise and transition tags in 2020.

Honestly, I think Jerry believes he hired a coach that can coach him out of signing Dak and Cooper. That will be some more Dumbo GM mess.

I think Jones is left out as pass rush can compensate for lack of CB play....

which Collins? didn't we sign him to a multi year contract? but if I had to choose I say Cobb.
Crawford is not all world, but he was the best we had in the middle...unfortunately.

and lastly, Lee....he is an experienced back up and often injured at this point...

Jones would be odd man out for me. Quinn is the only speed rusher on the roster. Amari cost a first. Dak can do enough to win a bowl.

2nd tier

Collins
Cobb
Crawford
Jarwin

Crawford is the odd man out here for me. He's always injured now and never had a position to begin with. His versatility was helpful but it's time to move on.

Cobbs experience with MM is invaluable to the teame. Collins is a great off tackle who's been asked to play out of position too often. Hands down our most disruptive interior guy. Jarwin, if used right, could be a deadly offensive weapon.

Brown
Lee
Heath
Joe Thomas

Brown. Lost his starting job, too old, not a play maker.

Lee is old and has injury concerns but he was the most steady defender on the team and makes great insurance at every LB spot. Heath stays for versatility and ST play and because he'll be crazy cheap anyway. Starter in a pinch. Thomas stays because rangy backers are tough to find and he can also play all three spots.

Jarwin is a RFA. There isn't going to be any challenge keeping him.

Are you talking about Laell Collins? He's already under contract that doesn't mean they couldn't cut him? Lee is gone Joe Thomas is gone downtown Anthony Brown is gone although he might be signed to a one-year deal if possible for a stopgap Jones should be gone but Nolan might want that experience back there to start with unless he has his eye on someone else? For the rest of it there's way too many free agents to sort it out that quick and my post above is only my opinion

Yes, it would be, but if the new regime thinks it can replace those players in the draft, and dare I say it, in free agency, it might pay dividends over time. Will Byron Jones fit in what we think will be a more aggressive scheme?
Byron Jones will fit...it’s not our CBs that can’t get turnovers it is the system. Soft coverage, Rally to the football make tackles...and wait for the other team to make a mistake...

Heath. We have too many question marks at LB to let either of those guys go. We don't have one LB we can rely on next year.

Brown is just a better player than Heath.
