Odds of winning NFC championship game

odds that people will get on board and stop complaining about our offense?

Why shouldn't the offense be complained about? It's been anemic the entire season plus we just came off our first shutout in 15 years.....so in your opinion it we should just be silent and accept it?........Sorry, I'm just not made that way.........you're thought process and acceptance of being happy with mediocrity seems to be the norm these days.

This fanbase this season has finally got the attention of the FO. I'm proud of the way the majority of the fanbase is finally saying enough is enough.....we'll soon find out just how closely they've listened.

despite last week's showing...we have a solid defense and running game that gives us more than a fighting chance in the play-offs.

The chart shown here indicates that we'd have a 1 out of 13 chance of winning the NFC championship game.
If anyone is inclined to perceive it from that perspective, it's actually not especially good odds, I'd say.

I am not saying that at all, but people can't think about making the playoffs because our offense is so anemic, it is all anyone brings up...we get it, the offense is bad at times (inside the red zone, specifically)....we get it, there are 30,000 Dak haters on this forum (some comments are merited)...I am just saying to take a break from ALL of the negativity - I am far from being happy with mediocrity - if the defense was mediocre, I would scream (kinda like I was yelling at my TV last sunday with no one else there)...my post was more - let's get in the playoffs first (and then the other steps) before worrying about the NFCCG; but people will complain about winning the NFCCG because our offense sucks....well? if they get there, then the offense must have done something right (minimally)

No it's not good odds. But it is not on par with a miracle either. If I had the money I'd be willing to put up 100-1 odds that Dallas doesn't win the Championship game. Getting there is unlikely but not out of the realm of possibility.

Yikes! That denotes that you are incredibly more confident than 13 chances to 1 that we won't win an NFC championship.

So, you're basically saying that you'd give 100 bucks to one if the Cowboys were to win it?

I'm just going by what I would need in order to put money down. At minimum 50-1. Seattle/Rams/Saints. It's just not a path I see likely to have any reasonable chance, so I'd like the odds to reflect that.

2011 Giants were 9-7 and won the SB. With the 27th ranked defense and 8th ranked offense. Dallas is flip-flopped, with a high ranked defense and lower offense, but the point is: Few gave the Giants any great chance of winning the SB, but they did.

I'm not getting my hopes up, they've been dashed too much in the last 22 years, just saying I agree...

But didn't we already win the lottery once against them when we were supposed to get creamed. And we only need 11 points since we held them to 10.

And there have been people that won the lottery twice.

They are a difficult bunch at home and their defense is playing lights out right now. I can see our defense holding them to 24 points but the offense won't score more than 13.

It's not all on Dak....I think good coaching could help with his fumbe and hanging on to the ball issues...........his first year he played great after being thrown to the wolves due to Romo's injury....since then Garrett has had off seasons to work with him and he keeps declining.........why some people can't see that really baffles me.........Garrett is on his way to killing yet another career.

Actually that 2011 Giants team got several of their injured defenders back late in the season, but yeah, it was an unlikely playoff run. But I would say these Cowboys making it to the SB would more closely resemble the 2007 Giants. Winning the Wildcard game and then beating two 13-3 teams on their way to the Super Bowl. They also had some bad losses towards the end of the season getting blown out by a crap Vikings team at home in week 11 and losing to an equally crap Commanders team in week 14. That said, how often does this happen? If I put money down I would want more of a return than 13-1.

I concur....I have said in numerous threads that I cannot put this all of Dak based on the coaching...I want a new OC in here next year and someone forward-thinking, not another 1990's coach where the game has surpassed them....If Dak does well with the new OC, then they extend him, otherwise, as much as I like Dak the person, I like Dallas the Cowboys much better...get Riley in here...and I know that there has a been a mention in a thread or two on Romo being on the coaching staff (I don't see that happening) but I would FULLY support him being brought in as QBC or even OC - JJ has shown that he doesn't care about his coaches having prior experience (see: Garrett and Moore) so it is a possibility, albeit, a miniscule one

Note: the talk of Tony having a cushy job (he does) where he is around his family all of the time is a little overstated....he travels away from the house EVERY week starting in August until CBS is done with the playoffs...if he were coaching in Dallas in some capacity, he would be home half of that time

I would love to see Tony step into the OC position today....he's amazed me beyond my original expectations with his overall knowledge of the game in general......with his overall knowledge of the game specifically the offense is head and shoulders above anything I've ever heard from Garrett OR Linehan.
