I know nothing about gambling/odds?

Does this mean besides Chicago we are the favorites to rep the NFC?

Yup. Although Carolina and Philly aren't too far behind at 6.5-1.

I guess that would mean NO at 6-1 and Dallas at 5-1 are even closer?

...of the wagered event, here the NFC Championship, if we were to replay the entire season seven times Chicago would win it two of the seven replays.

There is an earlier post where the one poster has halved the odds. That is not form for odds making because one doesn't play a half a season. Therefore it is incorrect to surmise odds for Chicago at 3.5 to 1 because you don't play half a year.

The proper declaration is 7 to 2.

Note odds are based on the current year and the current roster. Changes to talent and management etc change the odds. 50 - 1 doesn't mean the team only has a chance to win the Championship once in 50 seasons.

I hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure 7-2 odds means that out of 9 theoretical seasons they would win the championship 2 times -- giving them a likelihood of 22.2%.

Here's a better breakdown:

22.2% - Chicago 7-2
16.7% - Dallas 5-1
14.3% - New Orleans 6-1
13.3% - Philadelphia 13-2
13.3% - Carolina 13-2
12.5% - New York 7-1
12.5% - Seattle 7-1
4.8% - San Francisco 20-1
4.8% - Tampa Bay 20-1
4.8% - Washington 20-1
4.8% - Atlanta 20-1
3.8% - Arizona 25-1
3.8% - St. Louis 25-1
3.4% - Green Bay 28-1
3.2% - Minnesota 30-1
1.8% - Detroit 55-1

I think those are all correct.

Man it truely is wide open. Signing Gurode, Davis, Colombo and keeping TO and TG was the right thing to do. It's there for the taking and has nothing to do with the Vegas odds . It's really is anyones NFC.

I hate odds because we really never live up to the hype.

Like last year the odds of us winning the superbowl..... Damn. We couldn't even win the division when we had it in our hands.... Thanks for that one Bill Parcells.
