Odds we pick up a waived veteran left tackle?

If the Cowboys sign someone off waiver he will be a backup in Dallas, at least initially.

If the Cowboys plan on making their 1st round draft pick their LT then why would they take a player off waiver to play LT?

Might find a guy who they like more than Ball and their back ups. But still not ready to start.

Cowboy's have already said he's not even the starter at LG, much less a position that's far tougher. It is what it is. Guess we will find out in about a week what the plan is. If I'm a starting DE for Tampa Bay I'm shining my shoes and putting on my speed cleats.

The odds of us grabbing a LT off waivers is super high. The odds of him being any good, very low.

Our waiver position is near the bottom. What good young LT is going to make it down the waiver wire to us??? Slim and None and Slim is on vacation.

We will not be signing any old tackles on the street till after week 1. Vested veterans cost big money to pay them all year.

I would not be shocked if the starting LT is currently not in the building.
I would be surprised if they found a decent LT among the cuts. There is a league-wide shortage of good OTs. I would think that Dallas would have to make a trade to get a decent tackle at this point.

May sign or trade for a hunk of meat to hang around and give the appearance that they “tried”
But it won’t be anybody that actually makes any kind of a difference

Odds of a team having multiple guys who can be an effective left tackles are very low and therefore finding one of them is low IMO. If someone does several teams will be looking to sign such a player. The Cowboys do not fare well seems like when trying to sign quality FA talent. So,short answer, the odds are really low.

Better chance of finding a good WR because there will likely be some of them available. And there may be talent available at other positions that could be an upgrade for the Cowboys roster.
really, last i checked Hooker and Kearse stuck that recent history odds say Turpin and Barr will play well. that unknown tony Romo was a scrub lol some of our past FA OL have went on and played elsewhere with nice sized contract.

BTW we do not NEED A WR , must get if nothing else a backup OT to help with depth..any experience can be better over what ball and wally brings,

Any old LT that has even a small amount of tread on the tires is going to cost a pick. No one will get anything worth a fart off the waiver wire.
