Nothing can go wrong. If a person assaults anyone with any weapon they will be arrested. This isn't the WWE where they can pull brass knuckles out of the crotch and punch someone. Midas whale ban folding chairs since they can be used to bash someone.

A helmet can be a weapon if you swing it but you can't use it as a weapon because it is on the field of play.

Who knows, but I wouldn't feel comfortable coming onto the field and some clown is pointing a bat and yelling obscenities.
Basically, there is zero reason for them to be on the playing field.

The more I think about it, the lighter the punishment seems.

He got suspended for spearing with intent to injure, but he also threw 8 separate punches that game. And he's thrown punches before this game also.

I was very surprised he wasn't ejected for striking and opponent with his helmet. This alone is a mandatory ejection. Officials will be downgraded by the assessors for this.

Both players should have been ejected. Norman also put his knee into Beckham's helmet. Ejecting both would have been justified.

Well that idiot taunting with a bat should be punished severely.

Still, whatever foolishness that occurred 45-60 minutes prior to the game even starting is completely irrelevant to the infractions within the framework of the actual ballgame. Both Norman and Beckham should've been tossed. And Beckham deserves the suspension.

NFL rules state players crossing the 50 yard line during warm-ups will be ejected. So Panther players should have been ejected before the game even started.

If his suspension is overturned, then it makes me believe more and more that the fix in the NFL is in.

Don't see the supposed overturn yet on NFL.com or ESPN.

If it is indeed overturned then the NFL in terms of discipline is effectively neutered. If intentionally hitting someone in the head with intent can't be disciplined with a suspension, then little can.

Of course the overturn could be the same excuse as Suh's overturn - not fair to the team. Stupid if true.
