According to Ron Jaworkski and a few tweets I've seen. I'll wait until I see Scheffter post it but man you gotta love the NFL, They can't let Odell sit on a Sunday night game against the Vikings in prime time.

This will be yet another black eye for the NFL if true. Apparently they can't enforce any punishment even when that punishment is obviously appropriate.

Because they know that it doesn't matter because fans will still tune in to watch the games. I don't even think the term "black eye" can be used on the NFL because no matter what happens, it's not going to damage the ratings at all. In fact, we all know that the ratings will increase if OBJ plays.

It just adds to the Goodell-led league office's legacy of foolishness. They continue to outdo themselves. Unbelievable.

I knew it would be since the same guy who did Suh's suspension from last years play off game was going to be the one to work the appeal.

Short term, yes it will help. Long term, no way.

I know I am getting more and more fed up with the NFL and I imagine many more are as well. Just not nearly fed up enough to stop watching it - as of yet.

But one day, as time rolls on, I'll probably break and just have had enough. Others will as well. Then the long slow descent of popularity of the NFL will occur, and the NFL will reap what it is sowing now.

This is a joke. Brady cheats his way to Superbowl gets his suspension lifted, OBJ is headhunting on the leagues only undefeated team, gets it overturned, this is a joke. Goodell needs to grow a set and set precedence that certain things cant be appealed. This is becoming a farce.

Nothing "official" yet but it is a joke if it happens.

Aqib Talib's Moe Howard Three Stooges eye poke got a game. Beckham basically used his helmet as a weapon and launched himself at Norman's jaw.

If this is true it's going to be another black eye for the NFL and Goodell.

Maybe, I just don't think I can imagine the NFL going away anytime during my lifetime or after, even with things like this happening. The NFL has became almost religious for millions in this country, the entire weekend is designed around the NFL and even if some stop watching, there will always be new viewers to take those peoples places. I mean, look at how we are discussing the NFL non stop just on our message board, and there are 31 other NFL teams with their own message boards. The NFL isn't going away until the world goes away.

Not enuff to keep from getting a 10 million salary cap penalty

Jerry doesn't use his influence enough to be honest. He is the owner of the biggest market in the NFL, and the richest team. Can you imagine if he went into the owners meetings and demanded something? Used his voice? If I was him, knowing how mad the fan base is, I would have a sit down with Goodell and say "If you don't help us to a Superbowl in the next 3 years we will be leaving the NFL and moving to another market." That would cost the NFL billions. All Goodell would really have to do is have a meeting with the officials saying "you know how we have been screwing over the Cowboys for years? Yeah, well its time to help them." I know, im on a rant here, and I know its completely un realistic, just trying to put it into perspective.

You mean, Goodell should supercede any limitations to his authority as established by agreement between the league and the NFLPA?
