Who’s the QB Hooker?

As you know, not a fan of trading Pickens. Also, don’t see enough pass rush added as well as the Seattle corner is a bad fit in a zone scheme.

I’m not a big fan of getting rid of Pickens either. First time in a long time the Cowboys have had 2 solid #1 type WR’s and getting rid of one just doesn’t make sense.
Malakai Lemon at #12 is the solution to losing Pickens

Hey Rockport, I was wondering if you were in favor of keeping Pickens, I want to keep him long term he is too good to lose and too hard to replace. If you trade him Dallas will just have to draft another high first rounder, pay the man long term use those first rounders on the defense, seems like common sense to me, we already know how good the offense is, and should keep it as such. 5 good starters added to the defense will improve this unit, and Dallas keeps this offense intact. With the right players added This defense could be middle of the pack next season. Dallas can make the playoffs next season and make a run with the 3rd ranked offense and 15th ranked defense.

That Seattle CB doesn't like to get his uniform dirty, poor tackler. Shy's away from playing the run. Someone is going to give him a bag of cash in FA based on his play in his rookie season and the traits he possesses, But Seattle has been waiting for that player to return, but to only be disappointed.

I don't want to trade Pickens but that is good-looking free agent and draft haul if you had no choice in the matter. Good post.

You nailed it brother.

Yeah fair enough, certainly wouldn’t stand on the table for Woolen. Just not a ton of viable #2 CB options at a reasonable price. Rasual Douglas or maybe Eric Stokes would be alternates…unless others get cut in the next couple of weeks

Yeah, CB's in FA is pretty weak. Alonte Taylor would be a fit, but I think his price will shy the Cowboys away. (around 15 million). A player to keep an eye on is Greg Newsome...former 1st rounder, still just 25 years old, can play both man and zone, and his market value sits around 8 million or so. If Parker thinks that he can get Newsome in the right gears, then don't be surprised if we take a chance on him. I think the plan is for Bland and Revel to be on the outside, and at times we can probably see Bland doing some work in the slot depending on the opponent. Another name to watch is Dee Alford from Atlanta as a potential slot..

I have us going after Asante Samuel Jr. because of price, but Newsome definitely could fall into that category as well.

I love Lemon but he is more of a slot guy ,if we trade Pickens we need size at WR since CD is also at his best in the slot.I like Howell at 26 a lot.

Double slot sounds great. :omg:

Flournoy is 6'1.
Mingo is 6'2
Holden is 6'3
Tolbert is 6'1 if brought back cheap.

It is possible only 1 WR is drafted before 12. We could also wait and get Denzel Boston who is 6'3.

We would not have to draft a WR and could pick someone up in FA. We would have plenty of options to choose from.

But it would miss that slant pass.
