This year, at beginning of training camp, the Cowboys coaching staff decided to honor 9 players for their commitment to off season workouts and leadership. Each player was awarded their own golf cart to travel to and from practices while in Oxnard.

The 9 players named are:
Dak Prescott
Zack Martin
Tyron Smith
Cole Beasley
Dan Bailey
Xavier Woods
Byron Jones
Jaylon Smith
Tyrone Crawford

These guys exhibited total commitment to their off season programs and exhibited leadership for all players on the team. It’s pretty clear now these 9 guys are the leaders of this team- the heart and soul.

I find it interesting that Zeke is not on this list. Bob Sturm mentioned the other day that Zeke is known as a “hard worker” but not known as one of the ultra committed.

I doubt anyone on the team considered naming a man child who pulls down women's shirts and checks out weed dispensaries one of the team leaders.

Maybe these guys were consistently at the star taking direction from the staff and Zeke was off in Cali or wherever preparing on his own?

Maybe they only had 9 golf carts? Lol. After last years off field issues (not including the suspension, I still think there wasn’t enough there for suspension) they are gonna make him earn it.

Why California? He lives in Dallas.

I’m not necessarily criticizing Zeke. None of us know what his off season habits really are. But it seems to me if you wanted to improve your image of being “immature” you would take advantage of the opportunity to be seen as a leader with offseason commitment. Maybe he has...but I would think the coaches would love to have recognized him if he earned it. Are they trying to send a message? I don’t know.

It’s just something about that list that just doesn’t seem right.....

Just me but I wouldn't read too much into Zeke not making the list. We can flip the coin with the same question of why Tank, Frederick, Lee and only one DL player not on the list. Who knows, some of these players, including Zeke, may have come close just not the top 9. To be honest looks to me like a list of possible team captains........
