RG, CTR, WR, MLB, Jhonny Abraham OR SLB, AND Young QB TO TAKE OVER IF ROMO AND HENSON CAN'T HANDLE IT. This is the makings of a Super bowl team with these additions. The question is... which should we pick up in FA and which in the draft??????

The making of a Superbowl team? I don't see it - not for a while.

We need a lot more than what you listed. For the most part you are right but here's a few additions to the list:
We need a big clogger of a DT... a guy that will require a double team to handle. This will keep offensive linemen stuck on our D-line rather than allowing them to release to the linebacker level. This will also develop a strong line of scrimmage presence for our defensive line.

We need a free safety... a good coverage safety that we can trust. This will allow us to not have Roy in coverage on EVERY PLAY to make up for weaknesses in our defensive backfield.

We need Center, Guard and Tackle. Al Johnson has been abused in almost every game. Gurode seems to miss blocking assignments. Rivera is... OK but not all that. Petitti's a rookie and will benefit from an off season lifting weights and working on his foot work but we could certainly stand to upgrade at both RT and LT.

We need a young QB.. Romo and Henson aren't going to be the future of anything. It would be great if we could pickup a young QB this year and have him backup Bledsoe for a year or so rather than throwing him the wolves as rookie like we have our last few young QB's.

FWIW-the Rams and Tampa came out of nowhere to win Super Bowls. They, unlike GB and us 10 years ago, really never had seeds planted initially.

But what we REALLY need is a revamped coaching staff. Frankly, this team is no different from that Pats team and that Jets team that Parcells took to the Super Bowl and AFC Title game, respectively. The big difference is that those 2 teams had top of the level coaching staffs, this one doesn't have squat.

I agree with you though-as long as we're making the kinds of decisions in subsequent years, we'll be the Saints and the old Bungals.

I think BP and this coaching staff have done about what they can do with this team. We are not going to beat anyone based on scheme or execution so we have to beat them on talent and this team isn't the 1992-95 Cowboys so that isn't going to happen.

There are reasonable building blocks for another group to come along and have some success with in a couple of seasons. The first decision to be made is to get rid of some fat that BP has accumulated or kept on the roster - especially LA and Rivera. It may also be time to try and move Glover if he is worth anything. Ellis may be worth keeping.

What's it going to be then, eh?

You are onto something, something that should be obvious to anyone.

We do need some change in the coaching staff. We need a new OL, QB and special teams coach.

Sparano is outmatched. He should go back to being the TEs coach.

We need a veteran QB coach who has groomed players before. Look at what Norv Turner did. What Bradkowski is doing now with Palmer. David Lee is not doing Tony or Drew any favors.

DeHaven has not impressed much beyond warning Coach Parcells about the onsides kickoff against the Eagles in 2003. Save that, what, if anything, can be pointed to as an achievement?

We also need a true offensive coordinator. If that is Payton, fine. If that is someone else, great.

No more of this "running game coordinator" and "passing game coordinator" nonsense.

I can honestly say I have never ever witnessed this type of arrangement ever. I might have missed something, but I do believe this is quite unique. In a way, that might be a sly way of saying there really isn't a coordinator, but Coach Parcells pulls the strings.
