Taking a two-week trip to Alaska starting tomorrow. One of the reasons is that I have a bucket list of 50 different fish to catch before my time is up. 45 of those of those fish are checked. I have never caught a halibut, and I intend to check that off the list. That will leave me with next year's trip to the Amazon to catch an arapaima and red-tailed catfish. After that, only a golden dorado (Argentina) and Great White will remain on the list.

when going after the great white, be careful about who catches who....

Don’t get eaten by a polar bear!

Oh, it is illegal to purposely fish for a great white everywhere around the world. It requires certain research permits to do so.

You can catch the Red tailed Catfish in Florida.
This guy has some monsters he has caught in ponds and canals.

That’s under “controlled” conditions. I want the Amazon experience. I live in Florida most of the year. There are a few ponds stocked with large invasive species that you can fish for a hefty fee.

That's a pretty impressive #. Golden Dorado has always been one I'd really like to fish as well. I've still got white sturgeon on my list. I've fished for them 3 times in Idaho on the Snake with my brother in law. He caught one each trip and I got blanked.
