From the 50,000-watt nerve center of accurate statement and thought and plausible deniability, from Farmers Branch, where we shine brighter than the Star of Bethlehem.

At the end of the previous season, it was no contest.
The Dallas defense, like the Phreleptius horsemen who fell into a stupor against the Andinesians and waved the no mas flag to the advancing hordes, looked as if it just plain gave up.

No longer were the Dallas defensemen playing for glory or fear. They were just wore out by the incessant demands of a sometimes indifferent coach who at first just wanted to live out the glory days of N.Y. and then just wanted to get out with money.

The defense was outmanned by puny teams. its scheme stunk like Aunt Helen's tuna salad on a hot August day.

Our defense sank to the turf of the protein tundra of many an NFL town in the second half of the season. Its tragedy was one of scheme and inexperience. Its Greek chorus could only provide the tired old scheme from the sidelines.

What a mess. But I digress. What a press by the opposing offense. Men against boys. It was no contest.

In stark contrast,Romo and his offensive cohort marched rythmically across and aside slashing defenses like a tour bus of snowbirds eating at a Laredo buffett. Three yards here, a strike to Glenn there.

Witten and Barber, given the ball, seemed to effortlessly chew up ground.

This year, look for things to be closer. The offense will step it up a notch and light up the skies with the deep ball and then demoralizing the opposing secondary with strikes to Witten.

Then the slashing running of JJ and the bulldozing Barber on the goal line.

But, boys, while the offense again will pull most of the weight, the Dallas defense will make the biggest improvement. It will be closer than most may think.

This is a defense that Wide Phillips will build in his image.
It will be one of a hard punch up the middle, the withering attack of linebackers who will pursue first and plug second and a secondary that will lend Roy to play havoc on quick lobs and strong side running.
Sacks will be plentiful, not because the linemen and front three are so good but the scheme of constant attack will wear out the offense.

I feel so good about the big step the defense kin take that I can eat three steaks!
:D

Could ya ask Aunt Helen if she uses the Chicken Of The Sea brand? If she does, ask her if it contains chicken or tuna? Jessica Simpson really wants to know. :)

Let's hope so. Defense is the cornerstone of Super Bowl champions. Well, most Super Bowl champions.:

He's got the nose tackle. He's got the linebackers. He's got the (don't read this eduncan22) cornerbacks and the strong safety. If Canty, Spears, Hatcher, Hamlin and Watkins all play up to their strengths, it'll be a great defense, imo, but until that happens, it's a paper-thin aspiration.
