Offense first 2 picks

Trust the board,it got us Lamb and there is no reason to take a lesser defensive player especially at 10.

Lamb is still overrated, his production came against #2-3 CBs.

We would score 37.5 points per game and give up 45. But think of the Pitts Jersey sales and the highlights on ESPN!

Barnum & Bailey would be ecstatic!!! Stands packed. Attention of ESPN, Fox, CBS, NBC, etc. Tons of money coming in and microphones in the Jones boys faces. "Step right up..."

 

[Verdict]

So before everyone goes nuts, I know we need defense and I do not see this happening. BUT I THINK regardless if Pitts some how happens to fall to us at 10 we just have to take him, with his upside and talent and what he would do for our offense as a whole plus the possibility of losing Gallup. I think its a no brainer pick.
Now at pick 44 if one of the top rated OT falls to us such as a Cosmi or Leatherwood and they are rated higher than a Def player, do we make that pick?
Do we go back to a team like in Daks first year where we maul teams keep the ball longer and our Def becomes better for it. Just a thought and wanted to hear what you all think if we went that way?
I know I cant wait for the draft either so killing time LOL.

I have suggested to not be surprised with going offense on the first two picks. OT and Creed Humphrey might be a good haul.

Why does everyone insist we will take an OT in the 1st round. You take an OT that high, he needs to be a day 1 starter. We do not need a day 1 starter for the OL.
They been saying Collins and Smith are coming along fine in rehab. By the time the draft comes along, they will still believe they are still the starters.

I have no issues with Pitts, if for some reason he falls, as Lamb fell to us last year.

In the mocks I've done the offensive lineman I've seen fall to 44 are IOL guys like DIckerson (21) and Meinerz (40). But the best value picks have been on defense. I would think they would probably take a hard look at the highest rated CB on their board.

Meinerz would be awesone. When’s the last time we had a guy with a swagger and mean streak on the O-line - Colombo?

If Sewell is there we grab him and throw him at RT and move Collins back to his natural fit at LG. Connor and Nsekhe are swings until we can move Connor.

I hear the thought, but the only way I see us doing that is if Pitts fell to 10 (not likely, but feasible) and than someone like Jenkins, Radunz, Mayfield or maybe even Vera-Tucker fell to 44.

Pretty much. Value at 10 is offense, value at 44 is defense.
