Offense may suffer

Although Phillips may help the defense alot, I think the offense may suffer a little with a rookie coordinator if Garrett is it. The offense was 3rd in the league in scoring. If you bring in a new scheme it's bound to suffer.

I'm concerned about it as well, let's just hope that he brings in someone with more experienced, and let Garrett be the QB coach.

Sporano is still our vice principal in charge of metriculating the ball down the course of the field, or whatever title we gave him. There's continuity there, and we kept the base on defense. This couldn't have went better.

Provided Phillips decides to keep Sporano. IMO,this decision will be extremely important to the success of the offense, the choice for O-Line coach. Did Sporano do a good job with the talent he was given? Was he hobbled in his execution of his duties last year, and the previous years under the Tuna regime? Will the Phillips hire finally give him the latitude to do what he wants to do with the O-Line? Will he even stay,or will Phillips go another direction?

With the hiring of Phillips, supposedly one major area of concern, the 3-4 defense, has been addressed, while a lesser talked about, but just as important area, the O-Line,has been put on the way back burner. Here's hoping Phillips has thought this thru enough that this area won't be responsible for ruining Jason Garretts debut!

We may have been 3rd in scoring but our offense was far from a juggernaut.

It was a dark, dreary day in February '07. The temperatures in southeast pennsylvania hadn't been out of the teens for a week. I had spent all day Tuesday repairing burst pipes in my home. Norv Turner was about to be hired as head coach of my beloved Dallas Cowboys. There was no beer in the fridge.

That's when I knew I had hit rock bottom.

Then, I found Wade. He's not the best, just the best available. And Jerry gave me a reason to believe in him again. Hallelujah! Holy ****! Where's the tylenol?

With a strong D we will get more turnovers and more short fields.
The Offense should benefit.

Sparano and Garrett will be a great two-headed monster as the play-callers and Wade Phillips won't screw around with them like Parcells would have.

I mean alot of thouyght Sean Payotn was good but it wasnt till he actually got to call his own plays with final say so that he found out how good he really was.

Besides all the Offensive assistants that we lost were awful.

Anthony Lynn (wooptie doo Mo Carthon did better and that sad)
Freddie Kitchens (one year with the cows couldnt help Fasano blossom into anything)
Todd Haley (attitude problemplayers actaully like TO more than him)
David Lee (helped aid Romo's mechanics)
Chris Palmer (not innovative be crap in most places he has been)

There were no "Juggernaut" offenses in the NFL this year, IMO. Not even the Colts or Saints. Very good, but I wouldn't put the "Juggernaut" label on them.

Which is strange, all these rules in recent years making easier and easier on offenses, yet there's no unstoppable offenses like the 90's cowboys or 80's 49ers. I think the rules have made it too easy on offenses... the rules are making them soft.

i don't think we will have any problems on offense - we didn't even have a fully healthy T.O. last year or a experienced QB in romo, i think with T.O. at his best and romo a little more experienced then we should be good. the only thing i hope we develop is a decent running game, if we have a running game then that will make it easier for the receivers and romo.
