Offense versus defensive statistical rankings

Looking at or statistical ranking thus far, we are very balanced both offensively and defensively

Considering the defense was supposed to be the strength of this team it is amazing where we are ranked offensively. We are in the top 10 in 19 categories and top 5 in 13 categories. As long as Romo continues to play at the level he is at now, I see us moving up in the categories were we are struggling, i.e. sacks, ints, comp %, receptions for 1st downs.

On defense, we are in the top 10 in 20 categories and top 5 in 7 categories. Unfortunately with Ellis out and the lack of pass rush, I think we will continue to struggle in the same areas as we have been

Both of those stats include touchdowns scored against our offense and special teams. If you count just the points scored against everyone's defenses, we're seventh in points allowed per game (either 17.00 or 16.67, depending on whether you also count Washington's final field goal against our defense) and ninth in touchdowns allowed (16).

Thanks Adam I adjusted the def pts stats.

The most frustrating thing about these stats is that had we started Romo sooner and eliminated most of the penalties, we would have probably been in the top 10 for almost every category on both offense and defense.

No kiding, it's not like I am giving up on this season but I am sooooooooo looking forward to seeing next seasons play when the team is a little more experienced and familiar with each other.

This gives me alot of hope that once we get disciplined we are very capable being a SB contender. All we ned to do is develop that swagger.
