Because Williams was going to leave in FA and we were going to let Collins go, I would have signed Brandon Scherff to be our starting guard.
Knowing that Gallup wasn't going to be available for at least a few weeks and we traded away Cooper, I would have signed Christian Kirk instead of James Washington. Based on the cap space we have, this would not have prohibited us financially from being able to re-sign Gallup.
Both of these moves would have immediately strengthened the team instead of creating questions that we didn't know if we could answer. We could have still drafted Tyler Smith to be the eventual replacement for Tyron because teams that use FA well can do such things.
