Maybe Garrett is getting a bit too much credit. I was looking at ESPN's stats and it showed the offense only scored 30 more points and averaged only 5 more yards per game this year compared to last year. It seemed like our offense was a lot more potent this year, but appearently it is pretty comparable to last year's version.

365.7 ypg this year - 360.8 last year
455 points this year - 425 last year

I've already said this before, but it was discounted as if I didn't know what I was talking about.

My opinion on Garrett has more to do with keeping the same system in place...and not switching again next year.

Actually if you all remember last year the Cowboys were able to beat up on the poor teams but unable to score against better teams. So if you figure we scored almost 100 more points this season and add some of those points to beating a few good teams (2 against the Giants; 1 against GB; 1 against the Eagles; 1 against the Skins, etc, those added points gave us 13 wins this season vs the 9 last year.

We only scored 30 more points this year. Where are you getting the 100 points from? The offense made more big plays and was more explosive but it isnt really reflective in the end of season stats. 28 ppg vs 26.4 ppg last season.

I'd like to see the stats compared to both offenses before this year's December offensive meltdown.

Most of our big numbers last year were put up against poor teams... Houston and Tennessee were atrocious, and we put up 34 and 45 respectively... the game at the Titans, I remember a couple of the TDs to TO were purely his effort in double-coverage, meaning they were bad throws and not offensive beauties. We put up 38 against Tampa Bay and they were awful. Agianst the Giants last year, we never put up over 30.

Most seasons have ups and downs, the offense line and the offense really broke down in Nov last year and Bledsoe started quite a few games as well. Im just making a point that maybe the offense is more about the players and execution then the scheme. Just a thought, I like Garrett and hope he stays but a lot of us were quick to blame Parcells for his conservativeness, maybe that isnt quite right either. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle of the 2.

Just so it's on record. With Bledsoe the starter, we scored 17, 27, 45, 24, 34, and 22. 28/ppg.

No we scored 17,27,45,24,34 still 29 ppg not too bad. The Giants game both Romo and Bledsoe played we scored 22.

My bad, it was the Houston game... I remember TO ctaching 3 TDs that game, and I believe one of them was a toss up into double-coverage bny Bledssoe into the end-zone...
