What are some formations you guys would like to see the offense use that they can run multiple plays out of. For me it is the 2 TE sets. But not the same way your good old buddy Garrett had us run them. First we know our younger OL graded better when run blocking so we need to set things up and get Zeke going. But I also believe we need more play action and we need to send 1 or both TE's out more to take advantage of defenses run support LB's. Since both Jarwin and Schultz are capable receivers and we all know defenses will key in to stop Zeke we have got to use that to our advantage. The Rams had some success running 6ish plays out of the same basic formation with Goff and I think we can do it better using our 2 TE's a bit more. can CD be lined up like a TE then be split out wide? What do you guys think?

I think right now I like having Cooper, Gallup and Lamb out there more than an extra TE. I think there are times through out the game where 2 TE formation is a plus but Jarwin nor Shultz are outstanding blockers

That's fair. But then we have got to do a better job running when we go 3 wide.

You are pretty likely to see some of the 3rd TE in 2 TE sets because he is a run blocking monster.
Outside that Dallas goes 3 wide 70% of the time and I don't expect that number to fall much this year.
Dallas has the highest PPG avg in the NFL when Dak went down so I don;t see much that needs to change on offense other than some better luck with health.

Before Lamb, sure.
I think our run game will improve if our line can stay healthy(FISHER INSIDE SCOOP!!!)

Don't think we need to be in the 11 formation between the 20's every snap but that is our most potent formation moving forward this upcoming year. Schultz isn't a plus blocker but I think he can hold his own most snaps.

For the run game, I rather find an old school FB with some hands for when we want to run the ball/clock and the defense knows that but can't stop it.

I don't know that we need to use more 2 TE sets - we have used them a lot over the years. But I would like to see them use both TE's as a receiving threat rather than one being almost exclusively a blocker. They can do that with Scultz and Jarwin, who both seem to be quality receivers, and of course, that would also apply if they drafted Pitts.

No doubt but spreading defense out keeps those extra defenders off the line, when you line up the 2 TE things get a bit more jammed on the line. While Jarwin has decent speed for a TE he is still only running a 4.7 40 no one is worried about him blowing past DB. Last season Dallas was forced to use 9 different OL combination because of the mass injuries we took on the OL we were unable to win those battles up front. Myself I don't expect to see a repeat of that.

Correct. Jamming the line is what i want because i want to send a TE or 2 out to catch a 1st down vs a LB not a DB.

As I said there are time I would expect to see 2 TE but none of our TE match the skill level of Cooper, Gallup or Lamb. Frankly I would just as soon use Cedrick Wilson who is 6'5" in the formation than the 2nd TE.

100% agree they need to be more involved in the passing game. I'm just of the mind to setup easy passes by getting defenses committed to stopping Zeke 1st.

why dont we leave that to boy genius OC KM and the rest of the coahces,..im sure they have good idea of what works and what doesnt,,

better pray we dont have 17 injuries', play with 4 qbs and have 10 different Ol lineups over 16 games..right that =success..

being healthy s Key one for this season.. plays dont natter when backups are running them..that incudes Jarwin..

And the more weapons the opposing defense has to worry about the tougher their job will be.

they could use a lead FB.

I'd like to see us go back to the 2014 running game.

NOBODY or no defense would believe that the Cowboys would actually run a play with Lamb lined up as a TE so to have him stand there of a second and then move to the slot isn't going to fool any defense. This sounds like when we were kids and drawing up plays in the dirt. Next I wouldn't on a regular basis play a 2nd TE and have Lamb sitting on the bench. That is just total foolishness. If it takes 7 blockers, 2 TE's and 5 linemen, for Elliott to be able to pick up yardage then he needs to go and get a different back. Also if it take 2 TE's to pick up passing yards then we need 3 new receivers, but oh wait, the Cowboys have arguably the best set of 3 receivers in the league so I guess running 2 TE's as a base offense is foolishness. Yes maybe a couple times in a game, but not on any regular or semi regular basis.

True but there are not many true FB coming out of the college ranks. Watching when Moose was here that is a true FB and could move guys out of the hole yet still have the athletic ability within the passing game.

Empty.

The strength of your team is WR - including Brown and Wilson. Use it.
