Offensive futility in a league where it's easy to score

The NFL is setting records this year for points. Teams are scoring at will.

Not here. Dallas has scored 20 points or less in 12 of their last 16 games.

Dak's QBR is below Jameis Winston and Blake Bortles. His completion percentage is below Brock Osweiler. I hate stats, but wow.

This concoction isn't working. Linehan, Garrett, and Dak have to go. Until they do, this will be Cowboys football going forward.

The Jones' stubbornness and petulance suggests that we've got 3-4 years of this to go before they can even start over. They're trying to cling to Garrett. They'll extend Dak for probably at least 2 more years.

Talented roster, but it's all going to waste.

Say thank you Dak and buy some Tostitos and drink a Pepsi......o_O

We’re a good QB away from being a more serious playoff contender who could mask some of our weaknesses and highlite our strengths.

We aren’t a good enough team or organization to overcome a bus driver , bottom tier passing and scoring offense.

:hammer:

Only if that player is Brady, Rogers, Brees, or Mahomes
Or Ben, Rivers, Stafford, Wentz, Watson, Luck, Goff, Ryan, Dalton, Trubisky, Wilson, Smith, Newton, and Cousins

After that it's trash and unknowns.

The irony is that offense sells and you would think JJ would see the benefit of putting people in place to do better so that it positively impacts his wallet.

Bottom line is that the jones family always thinks they are trend setters, while in reality, they are 20 years behind

Surprised more people havnt picked up on this..... Dallas ranks 26 in average points scored (19.2) Who is worse that the Cowboys... Giants, Raiders, Titians, Jaguars Bills and Cardinals

The freaking 2-6-1 Cleveland Browns average more points than the Dallas Cowboys

We are the only team who doesnt get the concept that in the salary cap era, it’s not man against man and this “fight “mentality. It’s scheme versus scheme. Coaching is as important as any player position on the team. There is no cap when it comes to the HC position. Figure it out.

Witten explained all this for 3 hours.

This offense is based around antiquated Zampese timing concepts and out executing the man in front of you every down.
If one man messes up it is over.

Modern teams are using read options, RPOs, rub plays, misdirection stuff so that the PLAY out-executes the defense.
Linehan has brought in a bit of that stuff and it looks good when used.
But he can't help himself and goes back to basic bread and butter timing crap all too often and all the defense has to do is blitz and timing is screwed. .
Dak is not good in that situation and when he does just let it rip he gets picked off because the defense know sour hot routes as well.

This offensive staff wanted a QB robot but robots are predictable.
Romo did weird stuff. He made his own routes by pointing a WR to space.
Year 3 Dak isn't going to do that and can't yet if he wanted to.

Witten also said Dak isn’t the type of QB that goes through his progressions and they need to target a specific player from the get-go..

Not a ringing endorsement of Dak either..

Me finding out Dez tore his Achilles...

Anyone that watched that game and felt Witten wasn't dogging that offensive design is straight out lying to themselves.
Witten even defended Dak on the INT saying he trusted Cooper "too much". --to beat a double team? lol.

He noted Dak was a play action control the game QB for sure as opposed to take chances Tony.

But mostly ALL NIGHT his insight was around how hard it is score with this offense because you have no room for error. Every play must win man for man match ups.
Nothing is designed to go down the field.
Everything is execution.

It’s like the put the play call on the big screen for all to read
If everyone doesn’t make the perfect block and run the perfect route we fail
I sit at home and call out run or pass so we sure ain’t fooling any team
The scheme is terrible and Dak hasn’t played good
Lots of problems, one solution that is easy to do
Replace the offensive staff including the HC

Not sure how that is defending Dak on that INT. He dogged both the whole game and nobody disputed he was dogging the offense. They aren’t mutually exclusive. He also defended Dez.

Tony Romo, Jason Witten, Dez Bryant, Troy Aikman and other announcers and former players are all saying the same thing......

Not sure what it will take to get Jerry's attention
