Offensive Line Disappointing

All the criticism going around, I don’t see nearly enough dished towards the offensive line.

25% of the entire team’s cap space is accounted by 4 o-lineman. With those kind of resources devoted to one group, that group should be dominating. They’re doing anything but that.

The amount of missed assignments and whiffs this year are insane. For example, watch Dak Prescott’s interception from today in the video link below. Zack Martin literally blocked nobody and completely missed his assignment. Travis Frederick, Zack Martin, and Connor Williams have had mental lapses with pass and run blocking all season.

Zack Martin’s and Travis Frederick’s contract might have been market value, but they’ve not even come close to producing the output they were prior to those contracts. If you consider we’re also paying huge money to a RB, our asset allocations look extremely bloated.

Combine those cap hits with DeMarcus Lawrence’s horrific, nightmarish contract and you’ll see a concerning forecast. We have most of the cap allocated to a handful of players that are playing marginal at best.

Once we sign Dak and Amari, we’re going to be an extremely thin roster. Better pray the cap explodes after the CBA, or we could be in the same situation as the LA Rams, except with an empty suit head coach rather than McVay.

I didn't see that at all today. They threw the ball a ton and he had great protection. There were a couple of times where they overloaded a side and got to him but all in all he had good protection.

I bet Matt Ryan would like to talk to you about how bad Dak's pass protection was.

Put a real QB with real play calling behind this O-line and see what happens. This can be said for the D, too! Marinelli is a joke! While you’re at it...fire the damn ST coach and hire a real one.

This OLine has regressed. Why do analysts and announcers keep referring to them as one best when they are clearly NOT.

Honestly, the protection was pretty good until Connor went down. Afterwards, it wasn't terrible, but could have been better. The real issue to me was Dak holding the ball WAY too long. I've come to the conclusion he'll never have that internal clock and will always take bad/silly sacks. The fumbles are crushing too.

I still think he's a good QB, but this is an aspect of his game he really needs to work on. Make your reads, then move, then throw it away. Quit taking God awful sacks.

they were running at will today and Dak had all kinds of time to throw most of the game.

what can they do. They had no big penalties or mistakes today sans sua filo getting beat on his first snap.

Maybe the guy with the ball every damn play in his hand needs to simply play better.

They can’t see it!

Every player who got the big check from Jerrah went downhill immediately afterwards. Every single one.

Nah- D Law plays the run real well, Zeke gets those tough yards, and Jaylon Smith is blitzing more.

just getting the excuses for these players out of the way. I agree with you 100% btw

Jerry loves knowing players, it’s why he owns the team, to feel like a football man. His love for the staff and players is why he inadvertently creates a toxic environment...toxic to winning.

The reality is he’s brilliant salesman, but too undisciplined to run a professional sports franchise.

Agree. I was more thinking of pass protection.

Tonight was a perfect example. Talked tough all week then emerged from the postgame locker room literally weeping and saying how much he believes in everyone.

So Zeke is the best RB in the league because statistically he gained more yards than any other RB for 2 out of the past 3 years (would have been 3 if he wasn’t suspended) but the O line still sucks even though they are statistically and currently 3rd overall in run blocking and were statistically top 5, and possibly number 1 overall, since Zeke’s rookie year?

Just curious how stats apply to some players and positions but not others?

Overpaid and overrated. I don't see the skill, and haven't for a few years. I just don't ever see it, not since 2016.

Got that right, I don’t know why Jerry was dumb enough to pay him that much money, especially after he refused to show up for work until he was the highest paid RB. What a waste.

Over paid, overrated and underperforming.
Tyrons been overrated for years, but at least he was a borderline pro bowl performer in his prime. Its time to find his replacement. If someone offers a 1st for him, I'm taking it.

We cant win with this Defense if we dont run the ball. The defense wont hold up.
