The strength of Cowboy football in the SB years has always been the oline, period. Even as recently as 2016 and 2014. Its no coincedence that we had a sub par year this year. My take is we need to go draft a stud starting left tackle,no matter what it takes. Its clear as crystal to me that Tyron will never be that guy again(2016). He's hit and miss. I need your ideas guys. Mine is move Tyron to right tackle preserving him a couple more years, moving collins back to his natural left guard spot, making Cooper a swing guard,Bell the swing tackle, and then drafting a guy to start at left tackle. I am not a fan of Tyron at left tackle. He held the team hostage last year.Lets go back to Cowboy football. ITS PROVEN TO WORK. Fix the trenches. If we draft a wideout at 19 its a bad mistake.Dak will be on his back just like last year.THOUGHTS?

I don't think we need to move Tyron to Right Tackle but we either need to sign a quality tackle or draft a guy that's a quality backup at that position.

If we had different coaches it wouldn't be as high of a priority for me but with the coaches we have Dallas has to have someone with real quality behind Tyron because we will be lucky if he ever plays 16 games for us again in the Regular season.

Ya.not going to find much support for bagging on Tyron...sorry.

Oline is critical though and these guys need to get back to playing like the best in the nfl for this team to do what it needs to.

bringing in Paul Alexander as OL coach is a good start.
Re-sign Jonathan Cooper.
sign bengals f/a OL Andre Smith.
draft a OL within the 1st 3 Rds....Isaiah Wynn,Georgia...JaMarco Jones,Ohio St....Wil Hernendez,Utep(Id draft 2...both a T and a G).
I wouldnt move Collins or Smith....just add better pieces at G and swing tackle.

Love Tyrons durability over the years. It just seems a change is needed. I dont trust him to stay healthy enough to play at a high level. We saw that this year.It was bad. Chaz Green will be selling cars soon. He was pure garbage. However,I love Tyron at right tackle.

I think we will be running more of power run scheme, which fits what we want to do with Zeke. Great hire with Alexander. Andre Smith may cost a pretty penny. I love Will Hernandez at 340 pounds and built like a wall. Very athletic.Reminds me of the Steelers left tackle Villaneuva. Same build.

We have other priorities at other positions, more so than a LT. Just get a quality back up, or can draft a LT in the later rounds to develop.

We need a big DT, at least 2 LB's. A speed WR. Even possibly a S an CB, depending their plans with who we have, and what they do with Scandrick. But do not need to spend a high draft choice either, unless one falls to them.

Like Denzel Ward, if he is there at 19, which he very possibly will be, and the lack of the coaches not wanting to spend a high pick on DT's. If he is there, and no LB, then Ward would be a great pick. Then dump Scandrick.

I'm thinking we are running smoke screens looking at wr. I cant see us drafting a kid like James Washington at 19. He isnt polished enough. The top 3 tackles ARE POLISHED and ready to start now.

I may disagree here. What bigger priority can there be other than keeping Dak upright? Receiver can be had later than 19 I think.

Draft an OT that can play Guard in year 1 but can move to LT if Tyron's back does not hold up.

Moving Tyron to RT does not help his back.

Guys...I dunno and dont have a crystal ball, but if the past is any indicator,Tyron wont play all 16 games again EVER. At right tackle he may..but not left. We cant put this off.

I'm still stunned at the support that Jonathan Cooper receives here....the guy sux bad. It's like some of you don't know what bad offensive line play is unless it's shouting in your face like the game that Chaz Green had vs Atlanta. We can't run behind him, he allows regular pressure....we should be seeking to upgrade this position. It's not coaching at this point, he's bounced around this league for a reason and playing between two All Pros didn't help him.

I would prefer to move Collins back to LG, where he was okay (better than his RT play) and draft a competent tackle, perhaps two if we need a swing tackle in the event that Tyron goes down....UNLESS our new Oline coach believes he can coach up the mistakes from Green. Green has shown good play in the past...it's like he forgot all coaching/technique in that Atlanta game.

Providing he gets better on his back...I feel right tackle isnt as demanding, thus extending how many games we can get out of him. We gotta be honest here.Tyron has only so much more time left in the league. He is not an elite player anymore. He was an embarrassment last year.Got to be honest with ourselves and take the heart off the sleeve. The tape dont lie.

This team does not operate on logic. They will see that Smith will be fine and no need to replace him or get his replacement yet. They will see that as a need 3 years from now.

Look what happened with Romo...they ignored drafting a QB for years, and brought in a bunch of older QB's or even younger ones no one else wanted. When Tony went down, season over. Heck with him healthy it was season over a few times.
So when Tony goes down in 2016, as well as Moore, then we get Dak...but is Dak the franchise QB they been needing after Tony. Time will tell. We could have had Moore at QB and not Dak, if he didn't get injured. Then where would we be. LOL.

Anyway, this team has shown a knack for just going along that back injuries are just fine, no need to worry. There were quite a few other players, same thing.

So Smith's back issue will not put a big emphasis on drafting a LT, unless he is the BPA, if they stick to that drafting philosophy.

If JAson Garrett is going to be our coach then the OL has to stay stellar.

Making sure our most important unit stays great is fine by me.

WE can't dumpster dive at backup offensive tackle because Tyron will not play 16 regular season games consistently.

Cooper is no starter. I agree. Which is why he is a serviceable swing guard. He has no business starting. He is too finesse.Collins at left guard makes a ton of sense.

Even with this back issue, in the games he played in 2017 he was good. Not elite or very good, which is what we're used to with him, but better than most tackles. You're exaggerating his issues big time.

Amen, the voice of reason. Said very well. NO MORE DUMPSTER DIVING and tinkering with what SHOULD BE the strength of the team.

Here is a possibility with this.
Move Collins back to LG, draft a RT, and it can be in the 2nd round even. Then eventually move him to LT if Smith still has his issues, which he always will have. But I just don't see them drafting a LT high in the draft. Then what do you do with 2 1st round LT's.

True,at times he looked good..but for our scheme we run he must be dominant. HE ISNT ANYMORE. Its the stark truth..sorry.
