I've been watching some of the practice clips. I am not sure Dak will last a full season behind this offensive line unless we become a run heavy team. Our tackle play will be keys again this year. We didn't really do nothing to improve the offensive tackles. Maybe we are hoping a scheme change will work wonders. Steele and Guyton were pretty bad at preventing sacks last season.

I wonder if we play the starters in preseason since we have a new offensive blocking and defensive scheme.

..meh, they'll be alright. Little banged up right now. Not worried about Guyton. Steele? Maybe.

OL remains my #1 concern going into 2025. I see reason for optimism with high ceiling players, but we also have the reality that this was a very bad group a year ago with only 1 new face. Even for a guy like Beebe who I really like you can’t always count on linear year 2 progression with these guys. We have just 1 player we can really count on to be top 10 at their position in our LG. Outside of that while there is reason for hope, it is still largely hope for the other 4 spots.

How are we not worried about Guyton? He performed below starter level a year ago, and while he looked good early in camp he’s a year 2 player who’s struggled and will likely go into the season with 1 padded practice. Even if he has turned a corner the timing of his injury couldn’t have been worse.

I'm not that worried, at least relatively speaking. Smith is already great, Beebe will be very good to excellent, and Booker should be a plus player as a rookie. Steele isn't great but not as bad as people claim either. The only huge question is LT, but that one position shouldn't wreck the entire line.

Plus Adams had a very good OL in Arizona even with a bunch of relative spares. Those guys had nowhere near the pedigree of our guys.

We can't have an honest discussion about the OL if you say they didn't do anything. I don't like what they've done with Guyton but that is me.
I did not agree with drafting Guyton to play LT, and his poor play showed. He would have been a better plug n play at RT, but that is not what they chose. Hopefully he improves to at least be an average LT this year after he gets back from injury. And Shotty will have to call plays away from the left side often. The boys OL interior will matchup well with the eagles interior defense and that gives the boys a chance to push the ball to either of its star receivers.

Throw in his slow feet, he should be out by 3rd quarter of the first game

Guyton play nine game in college. You do know that. He was showing good improvement. Steele who knows. We are in a two year rebuild. We haven't finished

I dont think Steele improves any further, infact I think he becomes liability the longer the season progresses.

Guyton is an engima and we really need production from him

There’s too maybe gambles IMO

Tyler Smith is the only lock on the team. Maybe Tyler Guyton really turns the corner, and maybe Terrence Steele rediscovers some talent he had before his injuries, and maybe Cooper Beebe is the guy people predicted he’d be on this board last summer, and maybe Tyler Booker is gangbusters right out of the gate….

But all 4 things happens exactly like that at the same time is a tall order. Even 2 of them happening is worthy of celebration

You mispelled "rookie."

Seems like some of y'all drank too much crappy Shiner in Tyler Smith's first year and don't remember the problems he had.

The problem is that Guyton appears to be a bonehead with all the physical traits you look for. Tyler wasn't that.

What problems did Tyler Smith have? I remember the penalty issues but I thought he was excellent overall as a rookie.

for a rookie from a program that was not particularly good, Tyler Smith was overall a decent LT. But that was all

Now why is it that you think Guyton is a "bonehead?"

He was raw -- and only had a year at starter ... at RT.

He would have benefitted greatly from using his last year of eligibility, but, honestly, OL guys are better off getting to the pros ASAP - particularly if they are going to be a Day 1 or Day 2 pick.
