Offensive Line today

Ryan Cook must have had a pretty good game. To me the line has been better this season with Costa, but today Cook and Co did an excellent job.

People always say that an OL needs to operate as a unit, which takes time. When every single position on your line is manned by a different guy than the season before, it only makes sense that cohesion will be a challenge, but will improve as the season continues.

Cook played well against the Giants, and most other games he has played. He hasn't been healthy this year either. One thing I don't like is that Tony seems to have to tell the Oline who to block. That should be the Center's job.

only BAD thing about the O line looking better now is it gives Jerruh an excuse to do nothing to improve it

I don't know how it is bad for the OL to play better, or why anyone would think that way, but it allows us to improve the team as a whole if they do come together.

I would much rather go into the offseason being able to get the BPA in free agency and the draft, regardless of position.

some credit has to go to them too. they played really good. i am so happy right now

Absolutely. I was going to start a thread about this too. They weren't perfect, but they protected Romo pretty well overall and created some running lanes. Nobody bashes our OL more than me but they did a very solid job today. Kudos to them.

Jeremy Parnell might be our starting RT next year. He's that much better than Doug Free.

the blocking on that td run by murray was beautiful.

looked like road graders .

john madden would still be talking about that play.

That's because the entire Steelers' defense was playing the pass.

That was push by scheme. Garrett's done that too many times to count over the years.

Dude. Buzzkill.

Romo had lots of time, especially in the first half. It makes all the difference in the world.

how did parnell look today?

All of his plays at RT looked good. His one questionable play was as the blocking TE next to Tyron Smith. He was a little over-anxious to hand off his initial block to Tryon and get to the 2nd level.

The threat of a legit run will help the blocking. It is amazing what balance does for this offense.

Might be the case where our O line is less injured then the D line they were up against. Or in better shape. I was really surprised at how the Steelers D line just did not seem that athletic

Unbelievable!!! The nonsense just never stops. How about they played a damn good game and outplayed their opponent. How about that!!!

I agree. Pitt defense was rated one of the best vs run and pass. You will not win every battle on every play but they did good enough to win the war.

I agree. It is almost a joke and so agenda driven. OL has taken a lot of heat and deserved but they have also been banged up since pre season, I don't think we have lined up the same 5 for most of the season. They went out and did a pretty good job today they deserve some credit

They played surprisingly well.

Amazing how good Romo's connections and Garrett's playcalling look when the line gels.

isn't it? :laugh2:

Helps when you can run the ball effectively and have some time to find targets down the field and how much easier it is to call plays and see them work. :laugh2:

O line has been up and down like a yo yo.

today lets celebrate the ups, cause there have been plenty of downs

Romo still makes any OL look better than they actually are. I still want upgrades at guard and RT.

How much has Costa played this year? has it even been one game? You make a good point about cohesiveness and its good to see the OL gelling. I would still like to see one or two changes made next year. In a perfect world Cook would be a good swing backup to have. I'm not sold on Livings long term and Free will need to restructure.

that one TD to bryant was a play that takes a little bit to develop. looked like a 15-20 yard out route, and without solid oline play, thats a sack or a forced ball into coverage.
