With all the hate flying around I just wanted to say I thought the offensive line did a really solid job tonight. Especially in the 2nd half of the game. No, it wasnt perfect but these guys really stepped up in a hostile environment and played well enough for this team to win.

Are you kidding? the offensive line was really bad.

Romo was sacked 4 times.

We averaged 2.5 yards per rush.

What are you talking about?

I am talking about how they gave Romo a lot of time to throw the ball the entire 2nd half. Yes they struggled a bit early on, but I think over all you couldnt expect much more from these guys, on the road, in a hostile game vs one of the best defenses in the league.

Were you really expecting a perfect game from them?

two rookies and a second year player, all first time starters...I also think they played much better than I expected. The Jets are a top of the league defense with a lot going on.

I found it extremely encouraging not seeing yellow flags on the field...I don't even remember a holding call, which is shocking considering how long Tony held the ball at times.

They played way better than expected considering we have almost 3 rookies out there,we are not going to play a defense like a defense like the Jets again.

.........TSmith was SOLId against Pace and Scott but Nagy and Costa were weak at best and Kosier didn't play well either. We wont' win 8 games with these guys I'm telling you. Romo won't make it through the year healthy: NO WAY no how: he took a couple huge shots tonight and then lacked courage at the end, like he usually does. All style and no substance Tony: Danny White Jr. all the way.:banghead:

A perfect game???

4 sacks a game times 16 games is 64 sacks.

As a point of reference, Cutler had 52 sacks all last season. Next highest was 40.

The best D in the league last year had 48 sacks. The Jets had 40.

The best rushing d in the league allowed a 3.0 average last year. Jets allowed 3.6.

This was a terrible performance.

Actually, I thought everything outside the O-line was phenomenal this game (outside of dumb mistakes), but the o-line did not do well. Very disappointing, but they're still young.

Not sure what game you were watching but the offensive line played very well the entire 2nd half.

I was very pleased with those young pups. I thought they would block them a little better in the running game, but the Jets were the third best rush defense in the NFL last year. They did their best, and Felix Jones got every yard that was on the field for him, tonight.

I sure wish Garrett would have put the game in the young offensive line's hands and straight into Felix Jones' hands, after Jason Witten's monster play. Again, if Felix Jones scores 2 TDs, instead of 1, Dallas wins this game, imso. The Jets were done, and Dallas didn't allow the young offensive line and Felix Jones to go for the kill. Jones scored easily on a previous 2nd and goal play, and I have no doubt that Jones would have scored a TD to finish that drive. However, Dallas didn't see it that way. Somewhere, Emmitt Smith is shaking his head.

Dallas' old, way too big, slow, and weak offensive line would have gotten destroyed in that game tonight. It would have been ugly.

All hail,

Free
Nagy
Costa
Kosier
Smith

The Cowboys will run the football much better this year.

I thought Tyron Smith, Phil Costa, and Bill Nagy played great. This young unit came through when some said they were a "weakness". The offensive line gave Dallas every chance to win the game.

The line wasnt great, but they stepped up in the second half and played well enough to win. None of our mistakes that cost us the game were a result of them.

They were solid and should get better throughout the year, injuries notwithstanding.

Dallas allowed 2.8 yards per rush and forced 4 sacks along with 6 more QB hits. This is one of the very few wins that the Jets will have this season by your reasoning.

It was a tough introduction to the rookies and they definately grew into the game. The interior worries me more than the two bookend tackles (future) though, I though Smith was very good

Nagy's block on Felix's last TD was pretty darn nice.

Lol, so you're doing projections after just one game.

Did you know after opening day, there were more than a handful major leaguers that were on pace for 162 HRs?

C'mon man, get back to us if we're still on that pace by midseason.

Thank you for this thread. I also was pleased with the lines play tonight. No perfect, not always pretty. But all things considered, pretty darned impressive. Very pleased and very encouraged by their play as a unit.

Some are blaming LD for the blocked punt, but his responsibility is to first make sure of the snap; it is the guards jobs to make sure no one comes up the middle. Who blew it?

Out of the 4 sacks, 2 were at least coverage sacks. Kozier's sack was by far the worst. I thought the line played very well against a Rex Ryan defence. This line is going to get better. I was really impressed by Smith's play. He had a few miscues; but he is hope for the future.
