While Dallas Nation freaks out because the OL can not be 100% at full strength, the Kansas City went to the Superbowl, last season, with a make shirt OL. They only position that was healthy was @ center.

Chiefs had DEPTH to overcome injuries, while, as usual, unless all the stars are lined up, Dallas can't overcome injuries. Really you say? I say yes!

This franchise has done NOTHING this entire 21st Century. Nothing. Not a single NFC Conference game. Not even saying a win in the NFC finals game, just getting to it. Not (1)

Why?
1~ Franchise can't find depth in the draft --especially in the later rounds. That is where Jimmy Johnson/Tom Landry excelled at. The team of the 90s, didn't have a single 1st round pick on the OL. Nate Newton was a undrafted OL if I recall. Mark Tuinei was a late rounder.
2~ Coaching staff seems to not be able to develop depth players.

When you pay Jaylon Smith like he is Ray Lewis and you pay D Law like he is Bruce Smith and you pay Zeke like he is Emmitt Smith and you pay Cooper like he is Jerry Rice you will fall short every time.

Why did you leave out the person getting paid like he's Joe Montana, Troy Aikman, Johnny Unitas, Roger Staubach, and John Elway all rolled into one?? Dak doesn't deserve what he's paid any more than the other names you mentioned.

Gee, kind of a stupid post. Given that KC O line that had been decimated by injuries was DECIMATED by the SAME D WE WILL BE FACING.

I am still holding out hope for that one. Plus in todays NFL you need a QB if you want to have any kind of sustained success. There was no better option available.

1,000% nailed it ! Players come to Dallas to get P-A-I-D not to win. If winning happens, it's a bonus. It's about the cash and being popular when it comes to the Cowboys.

Agreed, but like a previous post on this message. When this franchise pays Prescott like he is Payton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Mahomes, Wilson this franchise will continue their tradition of NOTHING in the 21st Century

Jimmy and Tom did not have to deal with a salary cap or FA's.

They drafted and / or signed players. And they had their rights forever. So if a back up could start for other teams, as many of them could. They were not going anywhere.
It was easy to maintain a very talented roster. Heck, Dallas used to cut player when they had 120 in TC. And those players went onto some excellent careers. A few even made it to the HOF or close to it.

Dallas did not relinquish the rights to Roger Staubach until 10 year after he retired.

I am interested in seeing how McGovern plays tonite… RG is supposedly his best position, and he is certainly going up against top DT talent

He may pleasantly surprise

It’s certainly the young man’s time to show what he’s got. If nothing else, the team needs him for times like this. And they will likely need him to be a starter next year.

.
Yeah and the team we are playing tonight crushed that OL and won the game because of it...

Money is the primary reason most players leave as free agents and go to other teams. That's not unique to Dallas. It's a very small number that get later in their careers and already have a bag of money that leave solely for a better chance at winning.

The years of 2016-2018 were the years Dallas should have done something given the talent and low salaries. Since then Dallas has paid DLaw, J. Smith, Zeke, Cooper, and Dak. The O-Line is getting beat up and the defense still has along way to go. While that doesn't preclude Dallas from winning the choices of management sure has not aided this team in its efforts. However, when you have someone like DLaw saying he is now at a point in his career where he is looking to win a championship you have to place some of the blame on the motivation of certain players as well.

yet watching a A lot of footage this week against the TB DL almost all teams tried to double both DTs and was still losing battles but guess what left the DEs one on one and getting to the qb..expecting our oL even fully available to stop this dl is tal task, expecting a backup to do it on his own, well that a tall expectation..

that set of DTs they have 3-4 seem to needs doubles and that leaves LC and TS blocking 1-1 most of the game..that's where id worry,,they flat dominate the middle of nearly every OL they faced.. so if Cwill and Biadsz is constantly trying to help each other, man this is tough test for sure..

No denying that Suh and Vea are just beasts for Dallas to contend with on the interior and will be a big test for the middle of the Dallas oline. If TB gets exterior penetration or shuts down running lanes for Zeke it could be a long night if Dallas isn't able utilize quick route passing.

I expect our offensive line to play up to their reputation, and their pay scale. An enormous investment of money and draft capital has been put into that area and I want to see that return on investment. No more excuses or talk about ‘those other guys are good’ for me.
