So on the 3rd down game winning td to cruz Larry donnell just comes off the line of scrimmage blocking like its a running play and throws Byron jones to the ground about 3 yards in the endzone. The official is staring right at him at the pile on. How do they miss this? Its the most important play of the game to that point?

As a reference in 2015 Devon Street was called for Offensive Pass interference because he blocked on a passing play downfield....this is nuts.

Wasn't surprised... Even the commentators called it a "pick".....

Can't rely on the refs to help you win

No question. but look at both plays and they called the penalty on street when he barely touched the corner then let him go.....Completely absurd.

It is what it is Missed calls happen all the time. It was blatant but what are you gonna do ! The offensive holding calls we got a key moments hurt us more IMO

I don't fault them for trying it.

I've seen the Patriots use it so many times that the refs just wouldn't call it anymore so they could get on with the game.

well if they make that call I imagine we stop them from where they would be snapping the ball and they then take the field goal.

being up 3 with 6 minutes to go is different than being down and really having to go down and score because you don't want to punt.

either way this was a blatant missed call at a critical time.

And Dez's non-TD looked like TD to me. Oh well....

No argument here maybe we stop them maybe they still score. I still say we had this game and gave it away. Giants came to play for sure their game plan was creative but if a couple catches were made to turn 2 FG into TD's this was a victory. As it is plenty of good things to take away from this first game and plenty of season left to improve, hopefully we learn from some of the mistakes

The ref at the pylon is actually looking down the goal line at the three receivers in play there. He just didn't see it.

have to imagine he sees jones going flying backwards and land on his butt though?

Yeah, it's his job to see it. I think those guys are supposed to be focussing on the goal line though, right? Isn't this why Belichick is always *****ing that the league doesn't put a camera there?

Buck called it a "pick" but said it in a complimentary way.

Here's a gif of it.

I posted about this yesterday but it wasn't talked about much. It really looks like Donnell thought it was a run play and began blocking. My friend swears Donnell was running a "comeback" route and Jones just got trucked over. I almost can't believe someone could think that. That is extremely clear OPI.

Holy crap. I didn't see that at all live. That's infuriating.

Seeing it with motion, though, you can see how the ref at the pylon was probably more concerned with the LB barreling at him than he was officiating the call.

The Cowboys have been getting screwed by the refs for seemingly a decade now. We're always on the wrong side of controversial calls. The ONE TIME we weren't (Lions '14), the entire world made a big deal out of it.

Yep. Where were the two dopey mikes in the morning on espn with this missed call? How come this wasn't a big deal to the producers of all those shows on espn.

I would bet anything if Witten did this to landon Collins and Beasley caught the game winner they would still be talking about it.

Never play a NY team on 9/11. I knew the refs were "tainted" when one of them was patting McAdoo on the back early in the game after a penalty was called on Dallas. On a positive note, Garrett has become a bit more vocal at bad calls and non calls. A few years ago, he would have dismissed bad/non calls with a stoic Tom Landry face. Every other coach is in the refs face. Garrett needs to do the same.
