That was the best Cowboys game I've seen as far as the play calling since Garrett/Sporano circa 2007.

The play action is becoming a regular thing finally. And man, it's a thing of beauty.

Bringing back the delayed draw might bring a tear to my eye.

I loved the draw for several years, as it was our only way of effectively running the ball.

Now, it'd be a nice change up, especially on a 3rd and 7-10, where the other team is expecting the pass. Or a 2nd and short.

It is good to see effective play action. And/or the reverse, with the delayed draws. The combination is pretty effective.

What is really impressive is the adjustments Linehan was doing throughout the game. Romo made a remark he'd never seen anything like it.

I have been harsh with Garrett, and this may be why. Tweaking a route to place the receiver in the right spot to succeed is what coaches do.

But to sidetrack this thread a bit, notice how Dez took a step to the left and missed the DB who was knifing in for him. Collinsworth mentioned it, and this is the subtle give and take in a game which makes the difference in winning and losing.

Not sure if Dez figured this put himself, or was coached up. But that is such progress over a kid who was huge talent but so undisciplined in route running when he came here.
