Its looking like we will be needing to draft one pretty soon if nothing more than to be a backup swing tackle but also to eventually replace Free.

Who do we like?

Anybody got a list?

Not an impressive list or great year to be looking for an OT IMO.

Hopefully there can be a couple late bloomers.

Not writing off Green for RT, as maybe he could be better there, but as a swing tackle, I rather see Free back at LT if Smith ever misses a snap.

I found our guy.

Banner is a massive human being. He could be a 1st rounder and I don't see us spending another 1st round pick on the O Line. Then again, I never thought we'd spend the 4th overall pick on a RB, so don't listen to me.

I'll take USC's left tackle then.

If they're both 1st rounder i'd be surprised.

Chad Wheeler? My daughter went to high school with him. He had a pretty significant injury two years ago and then missed some games last year due to concussions and "other" reasons. Personally, I don't think he's the same player after the injury.

I'm down with an O Tackle, but hopefully they look at one in the second (one of those injured first round potential guys that they like to draft so much). This teams needs defense like a boss in the 2017 offseason.

He looks like a talent to me. I'd take him..

I'm not interested in a OT in round 1 btw.

Bucknell's Davenport emerges as leader, NFL prospect

Davenport, all 6-foot-7, 315 pounds of him, is a textbook example of an offensive lineman. No, strike that: He’s the textbook example of a left tackle.

Now a senior, the Paulsboro, New Jersey, native has one more season left to stymie and frustrate those poor souls in the Patriot League whose job it is to rush the passer from the right side.

Mike McGlinchey OL / Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Class: Redshirt Junior/ Height: 6-7/ Weight: 310/ 40-yard dash: 5.22

In the 2016 season opener at Texas, Notre Dame will have a player line up at left tackle not named Zack Martin or Ronnie Stanley for the first time in almost six years (October 2010). But McGlinchey is ready to fill those shoes and like his two predecessors, he has first round aspirations. After redshirting in 2013 and serving as a reserve in 2014, McGlinchey took over at right tackle last season and started all 13 games opposite Stanley.

Although he doesn't have the same lateral burst as Stanley, McGlinchey has enough athleticism to pick up and carry rushers to the corner. He has an aggressive punch and relies on his reach to keep space between him and rushers, but needs to focus more on his feet, not just his upper body, to hold up on an island and stay off the ground. While he does a nice job with first moves, McGlinchey will struggle with counters and needs to keep his butt low in his kick slide. He has a strong grip and sturdy base to secure the point of attack vs. power and relies on body position as a run blocker to shield defenders from lanes. Scouts will be focused on his transition from the right side to left tackle in 2016, a move that could give the Irish another first round pick at the position.

I wonder if we would be better off just letting Green develop at RT, and let Doug Free swing.

He'll be a top 10 pick so I just avoided him.

The Notre Dame tackle looked awful to me.

No balance and his pass blocking looked horrid.

I like these USC tackles.

Watching some of Dan Skipper tape from last year. He has towering size and surprisingly quick feet. Speed rushers still give him trouble but at least hes not a traffic cone like old man Doug Free. Solid run blocker as well. Good mid round option if we have no trust at all in Chaz Green to be our future at RT.
