Offensive Twist using RB Smith as 2nd TE

I was thinking about what wrinkle I would add to the offense. I think getting both Zeke and RB Rod Smith out there at the same time might work. How about using Rod Smith as a hybrid RB/TE? Smith weighs 235 pounds versus the 260 pound TEs. But I think Smith is a really good blocker for his size and has a lot more speed than Jarwin and Rico. And Smith can catch.

Smith could lineup as a TE or they could motion him back into the backfield. I would like to see how teams would defend both Zeke and Smith in the backfield. Or either of the two could motion out as receivers. I think there are many combinations one could run with this 2 WR/2RB/1TE set.

I don't recall the Cowboys trying this. I haven't watched the Texans and Jags games yet.

Already have a FB who was a WR in college who'd be a good fit as an H-Back/hybrid, but he's only used in I-formation (FB), so yeah.

Smith should've been lined up on the waiver wire the moment Olawale and Scarbrough were brought in...he's slow and does not hit creases when given carries...he would look slower than old man Witten out there. Meanwhile, legit fullback Aaron Ripkowski sits waiting on a team to pick him up...and another Sooner Trey Millard appears to have ran out of teams looking for talent at FB...injuries play a part but I also think coaching philosophy as a whole has went into the trashcan in terms of the value of the Fullback/TE/H-Back type of player. A lot of these guys end up special teams ace and switched to other positions of need.

Id put Zeke at TE he put a dlineman on the sidelines with a block sunday thought he broke the guys ribs for a while there

I would rather use said FB on plays that feature Smith...instead of Smith, he is not good.

Why not line zeke and smith up on each side of Dak, Or maybe all 3 running backs in an off set power I. I would call the first one "the T formation" and the second one something like Wishbone or something like that. I'm a genius.. :)

For once id like to come out in the wild salmon and run it down the other teams throat
