Offical Aaron Glenn thread

Glenn was a little to blame, but most of it falls on Roy. He is a safety. He should never let anyone get passed him. He is a safety net who prevents deep plays. That is why there is even a position called SAFETY in the first place.

Both TD's were mainly Roy's fault. No doubt.

Not so fast there my friend...maybe Roy could've gained some ground had Glenn not given the "Commanders go-to-guy" such a free release.

This falls on Mike Zimmer for not making the adjustment and getting Tnew or Henry on him after the first TD!!!

WHY THE HELL WAS HE IN? He was in position both times, lost position and cost us 2 td's. Yes if it was cover 3 then he technically wasn't responsible but he was in position both times. I hate him now. :(

Roy had deep help on both plays and let Moss get behind him. He gets just as much blame, if not MORE, for BOTH TDs. A safety should NEVER let the WR get behind him when he has deep coverage. Can't believe some of you are giving Roy a free pass on this. He screwed up. PERIOD.

im not saying roy isnt to blame, but wondering why the hell Glenn couldnt make a play, and more so why he was on him in the first place

Yep. Drew Pearson just said the same thing.

Just to clarify though, that's not to absolve Glenn of all blame, either.

He didn't do well at the wrong time. As a hired gun (what a free agent really is) he failed us tonight.

13-7 with the ball under 3 minutes..you KNOW what they are going to do. I simply cannot understand how the D dropped the ball on this one.

That is what we get for playing not to lose instead of playing to win though. If you are going to play not to lose, then at least do that right....

don't throw pass incompletions and let the clock stop...run the ball with JJ and let him milk the clock.

Bench him!!!!

You can't get beat deep like that. If I were DC I would never let him and roy be on the same side again.

I can understand Santana Moss getting past Roy Williams. Moss is one of the fastest players in the NFL, and Roy has average speed for a safety. (It's not much different from Terry Glenn running past Sean Taylor twice for big gains.)

What I can't understand is why Glenn didn't make more of an effort to stay close to Moss. It's not like he had another receiver in his zone.

Glenn was way out of position on both of those plays. He was drifting to the right as he was running down the field with Moss.

Where was the blitzing that was so effective the entire game. The coaching staff went all soft to not lose the game in this one.

What is Terry Glenn doing running a 2 yard in when its 4th and 4?

Didn't Crayton hear the press conference last week when Coach Parcells told him he must starting bracing himself for the hit after catching the ball? He keeps catching it like he's in practice and no one if going to hit him.

Flozell Adams 2 holding penalties were both crap calls IMO.

Roy Williams can't cover in the fourth quarter because he wears himself out all game by making big hits. That Texas heat wore him out by the end of this game.

Cortez makes that FG and we win.

Go Cowboys!

Not necessarily. The Skins would have had one more possession, trailing 16-14 with about 50 seconds left. It took them only 17 seconds to go 80 yards for a touchdown on their previous possession, so there's no guarantee that we could have kept them out of field goal range, let alone kept them from getting another touchdown.

You're right, because we had all night long to score points, but we couldn't do it. We only gave up 14 points, yet we scored a measly 13. WOW!

I don't get how everyone heaps blame on Roy...a SS trying to cover a WR

But shouldn't the CORNERBACK be responsible for covering the WR? I mean, isn't that their job?????????

Roy had contain...no WR is to get behind the corner and saftey...Next

Yep..Both busted but Roy had contain..the first he bit on the other receiver..recognition error the next he was plain beat and not deep enough..Glenn was too slow..poor critical mistakes by them both IMO and they are not rookies!!!

No doubt. That's what I've been saying. A safety playing deep no matter what should let the receiver get behind him. Roy was playing something like 15 yards back. He had a huge cushion and still let Moss get behind him. The safety position is created to prevent deep plays like that from happening. That is the bottom line.
