Oh, this is silly. I can't believe you're honestly trying to argue that Bledsoe is having a better year than Rex Grossman -- or at a miminum that you're attempting to argue that Bledsoe is better than Grossman at this point in his career. The Bledsoe apologists have sunken to a new low.

I never said Bledsoe was having a better year than Grossman. In fact my premise was that Grossman was having a better year. My argument is that Bledsoe is a better QB than Grossman. You're blanket statement ...

If one is playing better this year, he's the better player.

By the way, as a law student you should first recognize the difference between a hard rule and a standard. Second you should acknowledge that every rule has an exception. If they don't teach you that at Pepperdine, you should ask for a refund.

And he misinterpreted my original statment -- which was that a young QB showing promise and having an exceptional season is better than an old QB on his last leg having a bad season.

point taken, but it's still up in the air how effective Grossman will be over an extended period of time. If he performs around this level and stays healthy for a sustained period and Bledsoe continues to struggle on the road, then I agree with you. However, until then Bledsoe is a more proven commodity

I'm not a fan of either Bledsoe or Grossman. In fact, I said earlier in this thread, before the meltdown, that it would be a cold day in hell before Grossman reaches elite status in this league.

And I don't know what you've seen in Bledsoe since the first half of last season to give you such faith.

You aren't lieing. Their run blocking is worse than their pass blocking.

BTW - Leinart just made his first really awful decision in the face of the blitz.

We'll see. Their d is just now showing up, now that they know to pass rush every play. The Cards D has been here all game.

BTW - Does leinart have a history of batted passes? 4 in one game is a lot.

Even if the bears pull this one out, they'll be lucky. They're offense has been crap all night. I really, truly believe that their scoring offense is a fluke. They aren't that great.

I have been unimpressed by their offense from the start. They simply don't have the skill players to be as good as they've shown. The first couple of games that was about as good as they can perform IMO. Grossman is still unproven, Muhammad is basically a possession receiver, and Berrian seems like nothing more than a deep threat. I like Thomas Jones, but I think he gets taken out of games too easily.

I'm certainly not a fan of Grossman. I didn't expect this good of a season out of him, but being in his 4th year, this is the time for him to come around. However, it takes quite a special homer to think Blesoe is better at this point in his career than Grossman.

I agree with everything you've said. They've had a whooooooole lot of long plays, and that has led to Grossman's recognition. Tonight the cards took that away and showed that their intermediate game is garbage.

Such faith?? I've said IMO he's better than Grossman. I don't feel like I have to have a lot of faith to make that statement. That's like saying he's better than Chris Simms or Matt Leinart... they're all unproven QBs IMO.

I can see your point. Like I said, I'm not much of a Grossman fan at all. But honestly, I don't see how Bledsoe is better than unproven rookies at this point. He just hasn't done anythiing effective in a long time.
