Since the other thread has grown so big and information is spread in many posts over several random pages, I thought it would be a good idea to close that thread and make a new thread.

Please provide a link to specific posts where official or important information has been posted in the other thread and I will link to it or quote it in this first post.

I can't figure out who is more delighted with this news, the DFW Media or the self proclaimed realists? There's controversy in Dallas, look at the celebrations.

I am very disappointed in Dez Bryant. I was hoping the "punk" was being squeezed out of him but evidently he still has a lot of thug left in him.

I don't want to hear how he's still so young or where he came from, none of that can excuse what he did, ever! If he was 10 years younger and still in the "hood" it wouldn't excuse it.

As a man you simply do NOT lay your hands on a woman in anger and of all the women in the world, certainly not your mother. I don't care what she might have done to provoke it, and it appears from her comments that it has been happening for a long time, you simply don't do that.

I would be fine if Jerry Jones cut his punk butt today, in fact it would send an unmistakeable message to the entire team that this kind of thug behavior will NOT be tolerated by the Dallas Cowboys. I don't care how talented this guy is, he does not deserve to wear the Star.

I feel very sorry for anyone making excuses for this guy.

On Mike and Mike they discussed this and ran a quote from Darren Woodson.

Paraphrase: Dez has had these issues of getting physical with his mom and his girlfriend. According to Woodson, those inside the Cowboys scene say Dez is still very immature and doesn't show signs of knowing what it means to be a professional in the NFL (the inference was not limited to this incident).

Personally, I'm sure the Cowboys are worried...hopefully Dez won't be suspended, but anyone who thinks there's no chance of him being suspended to start the season is not being realistic.

Kid needs to be in training camp away from a life he doesn't seem to know what to do with.

I can understand the media because that is their job to stir things up, at least that has been the job description lately. But the so called fans are the one's that confuse the heck out of me.

What fans are happy about this? I haven't seen that. Some aren't surprised, but that's different from being happy.

His brother who was there says he didn't hit her. More than likely from the so called injuries that came up two days later, they were consistent with someone who was attacking and not being attacked.

The ones who were always on the "Bad move", "Stupid" or "Lazy" bandwagon are allover this like ugly on Rosanne Barr and are downright giddy with their "See, I told ya so." posts.

When I first heard that Dez had been arrested I wanted to wait and see what the story was before reacting, at least in writing, but my initial reaction was, "Well, I was right about him all along". After hearing the 911 call and reading more about the story, it turns out I wasn't right about him, I actually had no idea how low this punk could go.

Far from celebrating I am really pissed about this thing. This kid simply has no grasp on what it means to be a man let alone a professional and I had hoped that by this time he was starting to "get it". I guess not. :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

The sooner he is out of Dallas and out of a Cowboys uniform the better for this team.

If I am Garrett I am on the phone with Belichick trying to secure a 3rd or 4th round pick (although I don't think NE would even go for that now). Dez would do better in NE for several reason. They have stronger leadership on the team and at HC position. There support system for players like Dez seems to be better. I have been to NE few games it definitely has different feel than in Dallas - much more business like. Plus it gets cold really cold - less time for Dez to out and about. Its clear Dallas isn't the right place for Dez to be. He needs to be away from that family and in very structured environment. NE is logical spot.

I didn't say that he "hit her" but that he "laid hands on her in anger". Inexcusable.

I just don't understand being so convinced of his wrongdoing and that we should get rid of him immediately. Why can't the process play out so we can find out what really happened first?

So you are being attacked and you defend yourself with very minimal force and this makes you a punk? Okay.

My understanding of this and read on it was that Dez was in an argument with his mother and brother. She attacked him and he fended her off and in the process she got bruised wrists and such from hitting on him. The brother even said he didn't hit her. But what do you want him to do? Stand there and get beat on by a drug crazed crack dealer, even if it is his biological mother?

I didn't realize that you were there so that you can provide the exact details of what actually happened. Thanks for that, you have changed my opinion.

I didn't realize you were there and you know exactly what happened. Thanks for enlightening us.

Because it's the "I told ya so" narrative that is in play here. The more time passes the more we find out what really happened, and that's not good for that narrative.

Wait, now Dez is the victim? Wow. When the bar is already low, some folks grab a shovel and find a way to get under it.
