That's entirely overrated. They would do better to trade it for a higher pick next year and spend the extra $5,000 or whatever negligible amount it takes to bring in an extra camp body.

Maybe. But this is an unusually deep draft, so it's an opportunity.

I'd be happy to a 2015 6th for one of these though...depending on who is left. Right now, I see several that could make our team.

Here's something on Will Smith, LB, TCU...

Will SmithILBTexas TechUndersized but fast pursuit linebacker. Easily gets outside the numbers and cuts off the flanks in run defense. Solid cover skills. Weak-side possibilities.

Definitely fits the profile of this defense in terms of height/weight/speed. His production was pretty good at Tech in his senior year. Number game will be tough to crack, though.

The guy can't crack a 5 sec 40, and basically embarrassed himself at the combine. He's a UDFA of his own making.

Yup, regardless of the cause he was taking up, he spent way more time prepping for the combine presser than the actual skill tests.

Not that I know of. Strange. He's had some issues catching the ball and lacks some speed but nothing to make him drop this far. I think the Raiders take him right before our next pick.

I agree with what you're saying except that our team is not at all like SFs...we have no depth on defense while they have only a few winnable spots on the team.

The talent remaining is good enough that they could strike minor gold here.
